Where can i find red heart misty yarn color is sage mary?

i'm trying to make a blanket but need more yarn. the company is red heart - misty color is sage mary 2947. I bought this years ago, but can't find it now does anyone have any ideas where i could find more?

Where can i find red heart misty yarn color is sage mary?
I would try either Michael's, Joann fabric or try going to Red Heart's web site and contact them directly. The problem is that you may not be able to find the right color lot and your color with the old yard and the new yarn will be off. They may have some of that color lot left, depending on how long ago you purchased that yarn. Good Luck!

I am in Fresno California where can I buy sage?

I don't know where to buy sage. Does anyone know?

I am in Fresno California where can I buy sage?
Look in the produce section of Ralph's (or any market).

They keep the fresh herbs there.

If you want it dried, look in the spice section where the cake mixes are.
Reply:That depends on the type of sage you want lol.

Cooking sage you can get in the spice section of your local grocery store. I just used some in dressing.

If you're talking about Salvia (sage) that'll trip you out and make you hallucinate, that stuff is illegal in some states (California could possibly prosecute though it's not illegal) so think about that before you try to have it shipped to ya. You'd have to go online most likely to get it.

If you're talking about cooking sage and not Salvia, I apologize. However, if you're talking about Salvia I highly recommend you stay away from stuff like that. You could flake out on the stuff and hurt yourself or someone else.
Reply:At the grocery store in the spice section.Great in sausage
Reply:at the grocery store...they usually have it and you can dry it out yourself...if that is what you want to do with it.

I now want to paint my bdrm a color that accents the others.hlway is khaki& across the rm is khaki, nxt is sage

a greenish brown would unite these colors that you already have. try something like Behr "Village square" or "garden Wall"or "Lion" these are all great colors for either the bathroom or bedroom. try to get the paint chip from the store because the online samples always tend to look darker.
Reply:take the bdroom color and mix only half mx this will look Great
Reply:Sherwin Williams has a color called "St. Bart's" that would look great in the bathroom. It's a tropical shade of blue:

For the bedroom, I'd go with more of a gray-blue, like "labradorite."

I have sage green couch and love seat in livingroom. What are your views for wall color?

Medium colored wood floors and woodwork. This is a 100 yr old house

I have sage green couch and love seat in livingroom. What are your views for wall color?
I would suggest "soulmate" by Sherwin Williams. Since sage is pretty neutral, I would steer clear of any other natural tones, like white, tan, gold, etc. "soulmate" is in the violet family, and it would really coordinate well with the sage; the colors will highlight each other and create an Arts %26amp; Crafts style decor.
Reply:A rich burgundy with creme trim
Reply:An ivory color on the walls would be nice and simple.. or if you wanted darker I would go for a chocolate brown. I love brown and green together.
Reply:Suggestions:

White or ivory

rose

peach or coral

banana or pale gold

aqua or sky blue

lavender, maybe

caramel
Reply:I'd go chocolate brown if the room is big - or a soft white w/ dark accents (frames/mirrors) on the walls if it's smallish.
Reply:I would say a brown color or maybe a light tan or dark tan

I think Odin might actually be who you are looking for. In Norse mythology he is the god of wisdom - and a sage is a wise one - sooo that's gotta mean something.

As the story goes, he traded one of his eyes for a drink from the Well of Wisdom so he could gain great knowledge.

I painted my living room a sage-life shade of green. I have dark wood furniture. What color couch should I buy

The room is Kennebunkport Green with white trim. The existing furniture I have is dark brown - i need to buy a couch, coffee table, and media center. what color should my couch be? and where do i get one that's contemporary yet comfortable?

I painted my living room a sage-life shade of green. I have dark wood furniture. What color couch should I buy
Wow your living room sounds a lot like mine! I just bought couches too! I went with an olive green. It is so dark that it almost looks brown. I could not be happier! Ashley furniture is soooo nice. That is what I went with. Almost everyone who sells couches will have this brand.
Reply:IKEA. Traditional decorating would say get something next to sage green on the color wheel, in the same tone, or across the color wheel in the same tone. For a room, go same color, different tone, like a darker sage couch, with lighter sage pillows.

Do whatever looks good to you. Who cares what anybody else thinks if it looks good to you? The living room is yours.
Reply:I'd go with burgundy for the sofa and walnut for a coffee table.

You can try your local furniture warehouse store for the pieces.
Reply:you can find a great help in

i hope this will help
Reply:a lighter green or cream.
Reply:I agree that you should go light on the couch....maybe a linen color.
Reply:I would go with something that is going to contrast the color on the wall so that the room isn't to dark. If the room is small then I would go with a cream color or pale yellow, something like that. If the room is larger you could go with an eggplant or maroon color.

If you are going for contemporary I would suggest the cream or eggplant. The yellow or maroon may give off to much of a country cottage look if the shape of the couch isn't comtemporay enough. Also, if the room is large enough you could go with black leather but you want a good size room for this.

Ikea has reasonably priced furniture and most of it is contemporay but I am not sure about the quality. I would try someplace like Rooms To Go, Havertys or The Room Store. They will have a large selection of different styles and multiple choices in what ever style you choose.

If you are just wanting to add to your existing furniture then I would definately go with either cream or black leather that way it doesn't blend in, but won't stand out to much.

Good Luck and have fun shopping!!!
Reply:i would say white to lighten it up a bit. as long as it has removable covers you can wash. will look lovely, and some brown or green beaded cushions.
Reply:Kennebunkport Green (Benjamin Moore) is a light green but it does have some intensity. For that reason, I'd go with a light natural or very pale linen color. It would have the same sort of feeling as this room pictured here

and that particular sofa has some lovely clean lines that would work in a contemporary setting with the right occasional pieces paired with it.

Reply:I also have a sage colored family room and I also like a contemporary, and iam fortunate to work with designers on a weekly baisis so i asked them and here is what happened, I got glass topped coffee table and end tables with legs that matched my dark wood trim, since my carpet is light they worked wonderfully, then most contemporary design is somewhat monochromatic , my couch ,love sear and chair are all of the same fabric which is a beige color with a subtle pattern of color and those colors in the pattern are the sages and the browns of the wood and coffee table legs, but the pattern is so subtle is is not at all distracting ,it is all very monochromatic ,and the contrast in the room(typical to contemporary design) comes from art and acessories ,which are minimal and strategically placed around the room.
Reply:a butter cream, gold or a soft yellow.

I have just painted my bedroom rust and I have a sage green carpet.?

I want to know what color accessories would work, bedding, curtains, pictures.

I have just painted my bedroom rust and I have a sage green carpet.?
Rust and sage are colors of the American southwest. I'd find some beautiful photo books from the library of that part of the country and choose your colors from those. Sage has purple blossoms, and silvery foliage grows near by, with accents of red, flame, etc. I think your best inspiration will be from photos of the Colorado/New Mexico/Utah landscapes. You don't have to do a Western theme room to use that color palette. In general, colors found together in nature are pleasing and relaxing to look at in decor.
Reply:This sounds very pretty. A dark green, soft gold, and cream colors will look great in this room. I'd try to keep the background of your bedding light colored ....like the cream with the accent colors in the dark green and gold since the walls and carpet are dark.
Reply:I would use golds to complement and accentuate your other colors.
Reply:silver would work for your curtains i would imagine... and black bedding..
Reply:Consider spreading the sage color around the room and not just for the carpet - pillows for the bed, find pictures to hang with both sage and rust, maybe a landscape. Bedding itself could be a taupe color. Curtains - think about that taupe color with a sage and/or rust trim of ribbon. Even if you buy curtains, adding trim with an iron on tape would not be difficult. Accessories - add nature colors, rocks surrounding a candle, different shape ferns placed in frames with taupe matting's. All picture frames should be the same color, maybe black. Every room needs a little black for sophistication. Is there a chair in the room? Add a small throw in your taupe color and an end table in black. So the color scheme would be rust, sage and taupe. The key will be spreading these colors around the room for a pleasing eye appeal. You will be pleased.

What is the best color of roses to match with sage dresses in the summer?
Anything in the pink to red family. Shades of red are contrasting colors to green and look beautiful together. would go with either end of the spectrum. I think a deep red or a pale pink would be stunning.

Good Luck
Reply:I would go with a salmon coloured rose , bring a piece of fabric with you to the flower shop and put them close to each others ,you will then decide.
Reply:Pink! But coral, yellow, lavender, red any will go with the sage green, I would prefer the pastels though.
Reply:go to a hardware store and look at a paintwheel Opposites match and show great. If more subtle is what your looking for ,colors near your color match.

How much to charge as a Nanny?

What must a person do in order to become a sage and philosopher?

Develop one's capacity for deeper thought, for both. Mere study of philosophy does not make one a philosopher. A philosopher does not require a teacher. Teachers of philosophy pass down the thoughts of another philosopher, but an actual philosopher is an independent thinker.

A sage... my take on this role... to me a sage is a person who out of deep thought, self-knowledge, and intuition; a spiritual guide arises. They have created their own philosophy to be at peace with the many incongruences of life. They are the type of person who may know of other forms of thought but would seldom adopt these ideals.

I have read some philosophies, but have therein learned to philosophize, which in my opinion is a personal and spiritual practice. It is definetly worth doing. Once you leap out into the world community, you may notice some very puzzling challenges to previous spiritual conjectures, things that may have seemed so apparent become fuzzy, doubtful, and troubling; then you are well on the way to try to philosophize about them. Once you figure out a way to explain why, for instance: God exists and famine and injustice exist too, but God is good. You will be on your way to sagacity. A sage should help others to feel better about the pain of life and how to be happy with life. These are my own thoughts, and are free to be dissagreed with, but if you look through my words you will see what I mean: Don't adopt the words, instead, adopt the idea of independent thinking, question your surroundings, and try to see the good in the world. Know that the bad is just less good, do not believe in evil, believe only in less good. I believe that we are the glorious incarnations of the many great facets of God, in order to be most reunited we must become most good. My additional idea is that God has created life and eternity but cannot be overtly involved in the present, or otherwise the distinctions of good and not good will not come to be; Earth and the realm of life is a plane of purification for the spirit of God (us).

I do not encourage this belief, but it is my own, it is my philosophy, and any inspiration which I share with someone with the intent of helping them is ultimately rooted in this vision and thus I am not prone to the usual religious conflicts that mythologies create. I am more at peace with my present beliefs, and not terribly vulnerable to personal attacks on my spirituality.

I have studied and practiced Buddism, Gnosicism, The Craft,

and others including Christianity. I have fallen down to atheism and have recovered from that, now I see God everywhere. A sage helped me on my way. He was a Ghuru which I was fortunate enough to meet. I will say that no one must meet a ghuru or do anything. Live life well and learn to open your awareness. I encourage you to learn the pure discipline of meditation; you must practice to silence your mind, the more you do this, the better your focus and clarity of mind will be afterwords.

I hope you trust my advice but otherwise know there are no shortcuts to anythings worthwhile. Also, there are infinite paths in this life which lead to the same places, and thus there is simply no possible way that one can do as another and arrive at the same result, this only exists in mathematics. So by that know that I am only right for myself, my reality exists in my mind, and my path is less likely to be the path of anyone else.

I would like to further say that a particularly brilliant and detailed post was made by a man above me. I feel like he is particularly wise. My best advice would be listen and do not become discouraged by the path to growth.

Best wishes!

What must a person do in order to become a sage and philosopher?
I suggest Happy Hiram's answer is way above the best because, in the first place, it is better than it needs to be; second, it is funny and true wisdom tends to be that way; third, it is erudite and forces you seek your own answers.

I was going to suggest that sage and philosopher are different roles. The philosopher loves wisdom, (as the etymnology of the word suggests); the sage IS wisdom.

The chief philosopher in the west is Socrates. I highly recommend Protagoras, which much like Happy Hiram's reply is funny, erudite, and better than it needs to be.

The chief sages among the moderns at least are the advaitin, the nondualists, arising out of Indian culture. Sri Ramana Maharshi and Nisargadatta Maharaj are the standout figures, although Vivekananda, Ramakrishna, Gandhi, and the twentieth century Saint Teresa are all strong sage-types.

The more popular meaning of sage is something like a very famous inspirational teacher. In reality, most genuine sages are anonymous.

Study the works of those who have gone before, and come to your own conclusions.
Reply:Well first you need to get up and do some philosophercizing :P. You already are a philosopher, all philosophers really do is ask questions about the essence and nature of life and attempt to find answers for them. Once you have many answers and are renowned for your wisdom you may consider yourself a sage or wise spiritual mentor. I believe there are actually qualifications you can get from philosophy but you would do well to ask a university about such things. Officially though you don't need a qualification to be a philosopher, just think deeply and consider answers for the questions of life. :D
Reply:To be a sage I say to seek and desire and then appreciate knowledge that is based on truth that is not found in man's wisdom.

To be a philosopher you share the knowledge of the sage within you. By this I mean how you interpret the knowledge and wisdom you learned is what you share with others.
Reply:Here is a thumbnail course in wisdom.

Socrates says the questions are more important than the answers. He swallowed poison and died miserably.

Epicurus says that pleasure is good and pain is bad. But physical pleasure passes, while pleasure in mastering and living up to your values are more long lasting and fullfilling pleasures. Epicurus died of old age.

Nietzsche says morality is the handmaiden of weak minds. He died in a mental institution.

Sartre says that life is nauseating and meaningless and that hell is other people. He lived a long life and got on well with his friends and his lover.

I want to describe something to you called the vinegar tasters. It is a sketch of three old Chinese men each tasting from a large vat of vinegar. The man who represent Confucianism tastes the vinegar and finds it sour. The man who represents Buddhism tastes the vinegar and finds it bitter. The man who represents Lao Tsu tastes the vinegar and smiles, thinking "this would taste good on a nice salad." Which guy would YOU most want to have over for lunch?

Lastly, Abraham Lincoln said, "People are usually about as happy as they make up their minds to be." Since I am a miserable creep, I don't exactly live up to Lincoln's perspective.

Not every jar has a lid and "what is real is not seen with the eye," (Antoine de Saint Euxpery.)

If you understand all of this you are now a sage.
Reply:Think more with the right-side of their brain.

If you are a good conversationalist, good at memorizing things, and good at operating machinery, you are the opposite of philosophical.

If you are good at recognizing injustice, debating and disputing evolution, and good at defying convention, you are philosophical.

a “sage” as one who is wise through reflection and experience. In ancient cultures, a group’s sages were those who had experienced rich lives and were thoughtful about what they had learned through these experiences.

* Solicit Feedback Regularly: Perception is reality. Seek to understand how people perceive you. You may not be achieving the impact you expected in leading or working with others. You can not adjust your approach without the benefit of feedback that can inform you in terms of how your intentions were received by others. Be proactive in finding out what people think about you and your style of interacting and your approach. Be open to and appreciative of the feedback you receive, not defensive. Seek to understand rather than to be understood.

* Reflect on Performance: Some successful people are gregarious and extroverted while others are reserved and introverted. But all successful people know how to spend time alone being reflective and thoughtful about recent performance and behavior. Take time every day to reflect on the day’s work and interactions.

Always take ample time at the conclusion of major elements of work to reflect on the quality of what you produced and the effectiveness of your work with others. The key to reflecting on performance is remaining balanced in your self-assessment. Be self-critical: understand what you could have done better and learn from these mistakes. But also acknowledge success whenever warranted: celebrate and take pride in what you have done well.

* Know Your Strengths and Weaknesses: As you collect feedback and reflections, come to understand your personal strengths and weaknesses. Know that everyone has both. Successful people build success from their strengths while they limit the negative impact of their weaknesses. The reason to identify your key strengths and weaknesses is not so that you can improve your weaknesses. It is much more important to identify your key strengths and leverage these.

The management guru, Peter Drucker, in his classic article, “Managing Oneself” , states: “One should waste as little effort as possible on improving areas of low competence. It takes far more energy and work to improve from in-competence to mediocrity than it takes to improve from first-rate performance to excellence. And yet most people . . . concentrate on making incompetent performers into mediocre ones. Energy, resources, and time should go instead to making a competent person into a star performer.”

* Know Your Joys and Passions: Be in tune to your emotions as you engage in your work. We all need to do elements of work that are tedious or displeasing, but the bulk of how you spend your day should satisfy you and make you feel good about your contributions and the impact of your efforts. Success is difficult to achieve without that level of satisfaction. Know that people who excel enjoy what they do and do what they enjoy.

To become a philosopher...

1. Understand that there is no exact way to become a philosopher, you either have the ideas or you don't. You must free yourself of all limitations such as prejudice, religion, and point of view. Philosophers are often people that see the world from a child's eyes. It is important to listen to people, and travel a lot, to get a sense of the world and the people in it. Asking people in your town about what they think of the war in Iraq isn't really going to help, as a lot of these will give stereotypical answers, and will not be well-informed.

2. Understand that there is also no exact way in which you can investigate, and this is part of philosophy. Some philosophers, like Descartes, only trusted their mind and logic, and not the senses. Some say that the best way to start off, is to research about philosophy. When you study philosophy in college or university, you study about all the different philosophers and their opinions. Think about it, and disagree, or agree with what they think.

3. Think about the world , what it means to live, to die, to exist, and what the point of it is. Be the source of your own investigation. Since you're always available to yourself, any line of investigation about yourself (and there can be many) allows you to always make some progress. Consider the basis for what you believe. Why do you believe what you believe? Start from scratch and identify your reasoning.

4. Write down what you think about these subjects, including ideas you think you shouldn't write down (possibly because you think others may think they are stupid). While you may not be arriving at any striking conclusions, you will be exposing your own assumptions to yourself. You will probably marvel at how silly some of your assumptions can be, and in the process you will mature.

5. Re-write your ideas more formally and let others read your work, so you can get others to hear your ideas. You can ask friends, relatives, teachers, or classmates if they could offer some thoughts on your work, or you can post your writings online (through a website, a blog, or a message board) and look for responses there.

6. Engage in any debate possible. This will increase your ability to think freely. Keep in mind however, that you are not engaging in intellectual Olympics. There will always be someone who knows something better than you, and arrogance will stop you dead. You will need a healthy measure of humility.

7. Read philosophy copiously, learning new questions and problems to think about and past solutions, and their criticisms. Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in philosophy is a good way to structure these studies, but many great philosophers were also self-taught.

8. Pursue philosophy as a career by acquiring a doctorate in philosophy and getting a professorship at a university. This can be highly competitive, expensive, and challenging, but getting paid to think can be extremely rewarding.

Will pineapple sage continue to bloom again, after the red flowers have fallen off ? Do I need to deadhead ?

When I bought the plant it had abundant red flowers. Then they slowly fell off. It seems that there are new buds forming, but I am not sure. Will it bloom again, fall off and then bloom again ?

Thank you

Will pineapple sage continue to bloom again, after the red flowers have fallen off ? Do I need to deadhead ?
YES YOU NEED TO DEAD HEAD THEM, AND THEY WILL BLOOM AGAIN
Reply:It should bloom through late summer to early Autumn. I would dead head it though. Dead heading with put the plant's energy into producing more flowers rather than trying to make seed.
Reply:Yes it will rebloom. Deadhead it back to just above the first junction of 4 leaves on the stem.

Can regular ground sage get me high?

I bought some and I have been conducting experiments. If you could save me time and tell me,it would be much appreciated.I also have some Rubbed Dalmatian Sage.Is it possible for any of them to get me high? And what are some good ways to use mint leaves? How much to use to make a taste difference?

Can regular ground sage get me high?
pretty sure nope- i tried smoking it dried when i was 12 and it was just nasty...course maybe that's cause i was 12. It makes a great soup broth though, and great tea for sore throats. Mint is very good chopped up in salad, in drinks (especially mojitos and juleps), you could pretty much toss it with any veggies. It would also add good flavour to lamb or on desserts as garnish (chocolate stuff). Also makes a great tea- relaxing and good for the digestion.

Where can i get 2 big sunflowers and a handful of crushed sage?

i know, random question right? but i kind of really need these items. thanks!

Where can i get 2 big sunflowers and a handful of crushed sage?
florist shops sometimes carry small sunflowers. But if you need big ones, you will probably have to grow them yourself. Garden shops or walmart carry seeds. But they will take most of the summer to grow big.If you just need the seeds you can buy them at grocery stores everywhere. You can also buy dried sage in the spice department of your grocery store.
Reply:A garden...
Reply:The crushed sage is easy, the spice rack in the grocery store. This happens to be Salvia species but it smells the same as all the rest, Perovskia, Leucophyllum and Artemesia (the one used by Native Americans for religious ceremonies). The sunflower head is going to a tough one this time of year. Here in North Dakota we harvest the heads in late fall. You may be able to find one with seeds at a pet store specializing in birds. I've sold them before to a lady in Bismarck with an apiary but that was years ago. I know there are seed heads in the fields but the birds have eaten the seed. If you want to pay postage I could send you some and you could glue seeds back in LOL. Best I can do RScott

Will a blue-grey go with ecru, antique rose and sage green?

I have an ecru eyelet lace bedspread, and antique rose drapes. I want to add accents of sage green, and a blue-grey. Will this be too many colors? If not, can I paint the walls blue-grey? Or would the sage green be better on the walls, with the blue-grey used as throw pillows on the bed?

Will a blue-grey go with ecru, antique rose and sage green?
Go with the sage green. I am really a shabby chic decorater, and I have found that slate blue looks great for accents, but it is overall too depressing for walls. I painted my walls a colour called "sage green tea". I also have rose drapery, and a very nice handmade quilt with blues, greens, etc. Stick with the slate blue for accents, and it will make the room feel not too "frilly" and "girly". Another plus about the green is that light bounces easier off light colours, so it will make the space seem brighter and cleaner.
Reply:I would go with sage on the walls. I just painted over a room that was blue gray because it was SO DEPRESSING!!! Use it as an accent, but I don't receommend it for the walls.
Reply:Skip the blue-grey. The sage and rose will look good together, and the ecru will lighten the room and give the eye a place to rest. Sage on the walls, definitely. You can add more colors, but you need to vary the depth of color. Blue-grey, sage, and antique rose are all very similar DEPTH. To determine depth, get a piece of clear red plastic and put the colors side by side. Cover with the red plastic - you'll see that they all look pretty much the same.

Go with another color that is either much lighter or much darker. A dark plum would look good - contrasts with the green, compliments the rose. Try to find a print fabric that incorporate several of the colors - use in a pillow or curtains.

I have 3 year old sage green, suede couches that look soiled all over. What is the best way to clean them?

Is this real suede leather? Or suede fabric? Suede fabric should be able to be washed. Do the pillows have zippered covers. I take mine off and wash them once a year. If they are not zippered call Stanley steamers and have them steam cleaned on the sofas. They do a great job.

If it is real leather you need to talk to a leather cleaner who could come to the house

I will say that I have two inexpensive leather jackets that I love. I checked on having them cleaned and it was going to cost more than they did. But the sofa is much more expensive and would be worth the investment.

What is wrong with my pineapple sage?

about a year ago I was given a pineapple sage plant. I cloned this plant several times and moved them all out side into gallon size pots, in an area where they get a majority of shade but a good amount of sun. one by one the leaves of some of the plants (not all) have started yellowing, especially around the veins. Next they wilt a little and the leaves start dying on the edges and then completely until hole sides of the plant are dead. we have fertilized these plants with fertilizer that is guaranteed not to burn. I have no idea whats going on, please if you have any idea what's wrong let me know :)

What is wrong with my pineapple sage?
Pineapple sages are great Hummingbird plants - I hope you will be happy with them. I think they like full sun so move one into a sunnier spot for a few days and see if that helps. Also I think they need a lot of misting, especially if kept outside during the summer months. Try to mist 2X daily to keep the foliage cool.
Reply:It sounds like a lack of water (yellowing). It could also be that they need more sun. I live in central Texas and have one in my perennial garden (that I planted 2 years ago), it receives full sun and is doing great.
Reply:From research I have done for the same problem, I found out that some sages can die after a coule years...like an annual, but 2-3 years instead of one...ours almost completely died off, but then just started to come back the next season....don't over water it, but don't forget about it even if it dies mostly back....Some sages don't have this problem at all, but I guess some do...Good Luck!!

How do I use sage and other herbs in the home to "clear" it. Looking for more info. Thank you!?

i assume you are referring to removing unwanted spirits from your home? if so, burn the sage and walk room to room saying a prayer. make sure you also burn outside around the house and on your property. they tend to hide outside too. or are you trying to get rid of bugs? good luck

What color comforter with sage walls?

I am moving into a bedroom with light sage walls.

What color comforter would you recommend? I was thinking chocolate brown. The rest of the house is very casual and comfortable. Not fancy or modern.

What color comforter with sage walls?
Sage colors can be considered a neutral so you can do pretty much what you would like with your color scheme. I had my entire interior painted in three shades of sage and every color popped against it. It was a major selling feature when we put our home up for sale and everyone commented on it.

Reply:Not much excitement going on with green and brown, but it is very soothing, like being in nature. I like how sage looks with natural unbleached linen. Get a light throw like that for summer. Just launder it frequently. For winter, a warm rich color like plum or burgandy or burnt orange makes it feel cozy. Also, black and sage always look great together, too. Browns come and go, but black is forever.
Reply:sage green walls,

i like the brown, i love pink with green, i would try to find maybe a striped comforter with rust, tan, green, and brown in it.

i have a comforter with sage, cream and a muted purple that i love.

check ebay, type in a search for sage green comforter/bedspread/quilt..

good luck
Reply:Brown sounds really nice, or even tan/ beige. It depends on the mood of the room. If you want a relaxing room, have a warm brown to warm up the chill of the sage. You could also try a tomatoe red to a red orange, to look really fun and playful. Deep yellow would also look nice. Or, you could pair it with navy/blue, for a matching with contrast look. Same with green. Just play with it, and look for pieces you love.

What kind of sage would i ask a greenhouse for to get salvia?

Looking to get a plant to grow and dry out to make extract, is there a specific name or do i just ask for salvia divinorum?

What kind of sage would i ask a greenhouse for to get salvia?
No point in growing salvia and making extract... more expensive and more time consuming than just buying some good extract. If you're looking for bulk salvia, you an order from http://www.salviaextracts.com/wholesale.... their minimum is only 20g and shipping is free.

Decorating ideas? Just painted the kitchen a light sage green. White bead board is halfway up the wal.?

We have picked out a tan/white/brownish tile for the floor and plan to put tile on the countertops--same as the floor. We were planning to paint the cabinets white to match the beadborad and a folding door that goes into the utility room. Not sure what color would really look best for the cabinets? Plus, should we go with white appliances, stainless steel or black? Thanks for any suggestions!

Decorating ideas? Just painted the kitchen a light sage green. White bead board is halfway up the wal.?
Since all of your accents are white you would need to go with white cabinets. But maybe try to pull in the green on the hardware, if you can't find the right color buy plain wood knobs and pulls and paint them with your wall color then seal with a good coat of varnish. I'm a fan of stainless but it is very finger print prone so be aware of that plus it is always more expensive than a white appliance. But either one would go well go with your gut instinct. Go to the appliance store and see which appliance color/type you gravitate to first and get that.
Reply:Black cabinets with satin nickel or pewter knobs/pulls and stainless steel appliances.
Reply:I would paint the cabinets white and keep your appliances the same. You will need to bring some additional color into the room however and that can be done with curtains, art work and dishware.
Reply:I never really liked painted cabinets...it makes them look cheap. But appliance wise I would go with white if you were wanting to match your bead board. But if you do end up painting your cabinets white be careful with your appliances becasue you don't want to over do it with the white. Maybe do wood cabinets and white appliances.
Reply:I say white cabinets. If you got white appliances too the kitchen would always have a bright and welcoming feeling!!!

Plus, white can be bleached for maximum sanitation. A real plus in a kitchen!!

What can I do with SAGE?

I've got some beautiful freshly dried sage I harvested while hiking here in SoCal that I don't know what to do with. I think it's used as a seasoning- but for what?

I did burn some to eliminate the negative energy in my apartment :)- but things have been going so well for me there wasn't a lot- I have a lot of sage left over.

What can I do with SAGE?
Sage is a little bit limited, compared to some other herbs (like parsley). It has a very pronounced aroma and flavor. But it does work very well with most red meats, especially strongly-flavored things like venison and goose (yes, I consider that a red meat). Also, it works really well with most egg dishes, though you'll want to use it very sparingly. You can add it to stews and soups (as well as chili), or even throw a couple of whole leaves into a mixed-green salad.

Make sure you rub the sage before you add it; just roll the leaf between your fingers, to get the leaf pulverized. This releases the oils inside the sage, so it'll blend better with other ingredients.

Another thing you can try: if you've got large, whole leaves, you can pan fry them in a little butter (please use butter, not margarine) until they're good and crisp. Then eat them like popcorn. No, really, I do this all the time, and it's delicious. It works even better if you've got fresh (not dried) leaves.
Reply:it goes nice with pork and chicken, mix it with onion and breadcrumbs to make a nice stuffing
Reply:This is a tasty one and easy to make!

Breakfast Potatoes with Sage

3 tablespoons chopped sage

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 pounds red potatoes cut into about 6-8 wedges (do not peel)

1 teaspoon seasoned salt

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit

In a large bowl, stir together oil, potatoes, salt, pepper, and 2 tablespoons of the sage. Mix until thoroughly coated. Pour a small amount of water in a shallow pan or baking sheet and top with potatoes, spreading them out evenly. Cover tightly with aluminum foil. Roast potatoes for 15 minutes. Remove foil and roast 15 minutes more. Turn potatoes. Roast 10 to 15 minutes more until crisp. Sprinkle with remaining tablespoon of sage and serve.
Reply:use it as you would use oregano, rosemary, basil or thyme....

except don't sprinkle it on a pizza.....
Reply:Ah, I love sage! Lucky!

Well, I would suggest one of my favourites.

You need some bread crumbs - the best way to make them I find is to leave pitta breads cut for a couple of hours, and then to grate those. Mix in a healthy amount of parmesan and sage. Season with salt and pepper.

Separately beat an egg.

Get some pork chops. Dip the pork chops into the egg, and then roll it in the bread crumb mixture.

Pan fry until the coating is golden and put it in the oven to cook.

So yummy!

What are some good flavorings for poultry stuffing, other than sage and savory?

I would like to make it from scratch, not a mix.

I will be baking it in a glass casserole dish, instead of in the chicken.

What are some good flavorings for poultry stuffing, other than sage and savory?
I had a gorgeous stuffing made largely from barley in a resturant in Scotland - don't know what else went into it, but maybe there's a website for old-fashioned Scottish recipes; it was memorable beyond words.

Chestnuts work well as a basis, and so does sausagement; there's a Persian stuffing most often used with lamb that's based on rice with chopped apricots, onions, cumin, and I'd be happy to experiment with that also.

By the way, if you're cooking the chicken separately, a tip I picked up ages ago was to stick an apple and an onion in its cavity and start to cook it breast-down, so that the juices run through and keep it moist (this is really good with turkey, which is usually very dry) and then turn it upside down to crisp up the breast skin for the last 20 minutes or so.

Good luck.
Reply:I love fruit stuffing the best. One of my favorites is apple-orange stuffing.

2 tablespoons butter, melted

10 - 12 slices bread

1 Granny Smith apple

1 tablespoons orange peel (I grate my own fresh)

1 tablespoon poultry seasoning

Tear bread into chunks. Add butter, chopped apple, orange peel and seasoning. Mix together. Add milk to moisten. Bake 45 to 60 minutes at 350 degrees.

Where can I buy a sage?

A sage is a cooking appliance used to cook middle-eastern flatbread. It looks like an upside-down wok. It's pronounced "sagh", as in massage. I'm looking for one that has a natural gas burner incorporated into it.

Where can I buy a sage?
I've never seen such a device, but I'm sure it shouldn't be too hard to find. Where I live (SJ, CA), there are several Middle Eastern bazaars. Are there any where you live?

You could also go to a Middle Eastern restaurant and ask where they bought theirs. They should be able to help you.
Reply:go to any grocery store and look in vegetables.its not hard to find it there.
Reply:It is close to a plow disc blade. It makes a bread called Shrak or shrock. You might try a farm store... or look online on ebay or a middle eastern bakery supply.

When I lived in Jordan I learned it is the same thing as a plow disc. Same size and thickness etc... you have to make the dough and then spread it on this metal disc and then bake in a brick oven. This is the way they do it over there, the authentic way.
Reply:At the grocery store...or an import store

How do i get rid of aphids on a sage plant?

How do i get rid of aphids on a sage plant?
widdle on the plants. aphids hate urine. and it will add flavour to your cooking.
Reply:First thing look around do you see ants too?

Ants use aphids as we use cows, the aphids are put where ever by the ant and the ant "milks" the aphid.

Kill the ants.

You can spray baking soda and water on the plant. Aphids suck the juice out of plants spray even water on the plant and it knocks off aphids....but baking soda is used for many things and is found in most kitchens.

Wont hurt you nor I or are pets :0)
Reply:I don't like to use bug killer so I use a strong stream of water. As soon as you knock them off, it rips their mouth and they die. Last year we used a power washer on our crepe myrtles that had them. Worked fine. Don't have the stream so strong though that it tears the leaves off too.

What should I cook to go w/ the pineapple sage in my herb bed?

I love the smell of this herb but I don't know what dishes to put it in to cook with it.

What should I cook to go w/ the pineapple sage in my herb bed?
I love the smell too. I hope you enjoy these recipes...

Banana Pineapple Sage Smoothie

3/4 cup fruit flavored nonfat yogurt

1 teaspoon honey

1 small banana

1/3 cup skim milk

1 tablespoon chopped pineapple sage

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Combine all ingredients in blender container and process until smooth. Serve in attractive glasses, garnishing with a light dusting of cinnamon, if desired.

Pineapple Sage Salsa (serve with Corn Fritters, below)

2 cups fresh pineapple cut into 1/2" pieces

1/2 cup sweet red pepper

1/4 cup Vidalia onion, finely chopped

1/2 teaspoon chipolte pepper, crushed (hot chili powder can be substituted)

1/4 cup pineapple sage flowers, coarsely chopped

To get 1/4 cup of flowers, you'll need 20 or more flower stems of pineapple sage. It's a bit tedious, but you need to pluck the tiny, bright red flowers one-by-one. It's okay of you end up with a little bit of the sepals (the green stuff around the base of the flower.) Combine all these ingredients in a nonmetallic bowl. Cover, then refrigerate for at least 12 hours before using. This allows plenty of time for the flavors to meld.

The salsa is also good as a dip with chips or served on seafood. And believe it or not, it tastes pretty good on ice cream, too! You might consider eliminating the onions, even though they're sweet.

Pineapple Sage Corn Fritters

24 oz. frozen corn or 16 oz. of frozen corn and 3 ears of fresh corn cut off the cob

1 teaspoon ground coriander

1 tablespoon medium chili powder

1/8 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon granulated sugar

1/2 cup sweet red pepper

1/4 cup onion

1 tablespoon baking powder

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

2 eggs, beaten

Vegetable oil for deep frying

Add half of the frozen corn to the coriander, chili powder, salt, sugar, red pepper, and onion in the bowl of a food processor fitted with a steel blade. Pulse until it reaches the consistency of oatmeal. Transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl. In a separate bowl, sift together the baking powder and flour. Then add the flour mixture, the eggs, and the remaining corn to the first corn mixture. Stir until mixed.

Pour oil about 1-1/2" deep in a heavy frying pan. Heat the oil to 350 degrees for deep frying. Drop the batter by rounded tablespoons into the oil. Turn the fritters occasionally to brown evenly on all sides. Cooking time will vary, but it usually takes 3 to 4 minutes. Remove the fritters from the oil and drain on absorbent paper. Serve immediately with the pineapple salsa. If you have any left over, they hold up pretty well and are even tasty cold the next day. They also freeze well. And you can also freeze the left over salsa. It will lose its color, but not its taste.

Pineapple Sage Bread

1 cup butter, at room temperature

1 cup sugar

1/4 cup honey (light wild flower or sage flower preferred)

5 eggs

2 tbsp chop pineapple sage leaves

(new leaves have the most pineapple flavor)

3 Tablespoons coarsely chopped pineapple sage flowers*

1 teaspoon grated lemon peel

4 Tablespoons well-squeezed, chopped pineapple

1 teaspoon baking powder

2 cups flour

Cream the butter and the sugar until very light and fluffy. Beat in the honey. Add the eggs one at a time, making sure to beat for one minute after each addition. Beat in the sage leaves, flowers and lemon peel. Stir the dry ingredients together and add to the butter mixture. Fold these together gently, until just blended. Pour into four miniature loaf pans (6 inches by 3 1/4 inches by 2 inches). Bake in a pre-heated 325xF oven for approximately 45 minutes, or until golden brown. (A toothpick inserted in the middle should come out clean.) Cool for 10 minutes on a rack, then turn out of pans and continue to cool. *the recipe can be made without the flowers, if the plant has stopped flowering and no flowers are available. No adjustments to the recipe are necessary.

How to enter rebate from credit card into sage instant accounts?
You will need to allocate it to the bank account into which the rebate is paid.

Then, I would enter it as a receipt to 'drawings for self'. In effect this will reduce your drawings and therefore be correct for tax purposes.

Dixie is right. I was assuming that this was some sort of rebate for personal reasons. If you mean refund to credit card used for a business transaction, then you really need to show this as a receipt, using the account and type of expense that it originally referred to. In other words the same codes that you used for the payment, but showing receipt instead of payment.
Reply:Yes treat it as a payment received but whats it for - if its a refund then it needs to offset the expense item (any accrual should be reversed out separately) If it isn't how come its tax free

So it all depends on why you received it

How about trying a kiev type thing with a turkey breast? Mix the sage with the butter without melting it, make a small pocket in the breast meat and stuff it with the butter.

It then needs to be breaded, but as the filling will become liquid, the process will need to be done twice. Dip in flour, egg, breadcrumbs then the egg and breadcrumbs again.

You can cook this in the oven if you want to be healthy or deep fry.

It actually works surprisingly well served with a tomato and herb sauce.

When, and for how long does a Sage plant flower?
Sage is the common name for many of the salvias. There are both tender or annual as well as cold hardy salvias used ornamentally %26amp; there are culinary salvias.

Culinary Garden Sages include the many colored variants and some dwarf forms like Salvia officinalis minum. These are grown for the leaf color in tricolor, golden, %26amp; purple.

These are short lived woody plants usually good for a few years with heavy pruning to just beyond where flowers are showing. Do not prune into old wood, prune til two pair of leaves are left. These are Zone 5 hardy.

Cold hardy salvias

Salvia x superbas include Blue Queen, Rose Queen, and May Night. They range from 18-36" tall and bloom in spring with a fall repeat.

Salvia pratensis, Blue Meadow Clary is another hardy and attractive plant.

Annual or only zone 8 hardy ornamental sages;

Scarlet sage - Salvia splendens is now available in many colors not just red

Victoria sage Salvia farinacea flowers all season and is very tidy.

Indigo Spires is a hybrid of Victoria Sage with 18" spikes of blueish purple.

Canary Island Sage - S. canariensis come with pink flowers on wooly stems

Mexican Blue Sage - S. chamaedryoides has the truest blue flowers and mounds nicely at 2x4'

Pineapple sage -S. elegans- has long red tubular flowers.

There are many more but these are some more popular ones. All of the annual sages bloom spring til frost but dead heading them keeps them coming faster.

Most salvias like a lot of sun and the annuals need an organic rich soil to bloom their best.
Reply:it depends if they are perenials or annuals if annuals they will bloom all summer as long as you pinch the dead shoots off new ones will bloom. If they are perenials i am not sure of the bloom time my suggestion is if you want bloom for the season you want annual plants

Reply:I think the colors sage and brown are very hip at the moment - good choice! Everyone, including the men, had a wonderful time and all got pampered before the wedding. Just thought I'd share that idea since it was something I never would have thought of doing. Enjoy and best of luck with your plans!

Where can I buy Sage Smudge Sticks in Dallas Fort Worth Area?
There's a place in Richardson called Silver Pyramid. They have jewely and minerals, spriritual things. Anyway, they have sage smudge sticks. They're 15 minutes north of downtown Dallas.

If you live in Fort Worth, that's a long drive, so you can also try Earthbound Trading Company. They sell incense and natural products. They don't sell products online, so I don't know if they carry sage smudge sticks. But they're in most malls, and you can call before going to make sure.

Painting bedroom a sage color, what color coordinates?

I am painting my bedroom in a sage color. I need coordinating colors. I want a warm, cozy, relaxing room, nothing bright and i hate gold. Anyone have any ideas?

Painting bedroom a sage color, what color coordinates?
To have coordinating colors you need to stay on the same side of the color wheel. You could use browns for a natural and warm feeling. The cocoa or chocolate are very popular now. Then your third color would need to used for accents.Since your walls are sage and that is considered 60% of the room, use the coordinating color or brown in 30% as in furniture, wainscoating, etc and then the remaining 10% will be the accent color. You could use a dark tourquoise or a darker green than the sage, for the third color, for a very warm room. Then your personal touches would give life to the room with splashes of color, texture, and light.Best wishes!
Reply:Tan, brown, orange, even yellows. Happy decorating.
Reply:I would use lavendar and cream
Reply:a cream color would be warm and cozy and would go great with sage but dont leave any white on the trims paint all trim and roof if possible in the cream color any white in the room throws off the warm feeling depending on the color of your furniture is how good it would look. if you dont like the cream color ideas a dull red would also look good, or a darkesh purple but not too dark you dont want it to be close to a black color the would ruin your room. and if you like any of these ideas let me know im thinking about getting a degree for interior design
Reply:soft browns, off-white, try to go to natural colors.
Reply:linen white and tangerine
Reply:Pale yellows,pale pinks,beige or lite gray...
Reply:Shade of browns with a deep maroon or deep reds will give you the look your after. Anything in the white family is going to make that color pop instead of being subdued same with yellows. Accents of black and if you can find just the right color dark turquoise will give it a tailored look also.
Reply:think beach colors. a sand color would go nice, A slightly deeper sage to mimic waves.
Reply:My bedroom is sage green...honestly , I'm tired of it already and it's only been about a year. But I did dusty rose , lavenders and cream colors with it.
Reply:Sage and eggplant are a good color combination, very warm; sage and rust are harvest colors; sage and silvery gray are very deco glam and mutued. Chesapeake colors--soft sage and soft smokey blue gray with cream. Martha Steward paint colors are all very muted and soft--you could mix %26amp; match the chip cards to get ideas and get a feel of those you like (They are carried by Sherwin Williams).
Reply:use eggshell or a soft white to accent.
Reply:I find my inspiration in nature and also art:

Lavender, yellows, warm oranges and natural tones might work well.
Reply:cream color white, light-ish brown
Reply:How about coco
Reply:a light red or pink and white.
Reply:Sage is a very neutral color, so it looks good with a lot.

Sage and cream are a great starting point. Then you should pick a really dark color. Every room should have something quite dark to sort of anchor it. Chocolate Brown, Black, Navy Blue or Really Deep Plum would all look nice. The Brown will probably be the warmest. I generally tend to add another color as well when decorating in my home. Maybe burnt orange (with a touch of red)? Orange is a very warm color, but strong as well. You may want to just use touches here and there if you go that route.

If you go to Behr.com you can look at different color options. Try "glowing firelight" "rootbeer" and "raffia cream."
Reply:a rusty shade of brown or burgundy will go well.

Reply:Yes, I am doing a guest bed room in sage green and cream. This is a very pretty combination--looks clean and will also add some light to the sage green. For the third color you might consider adding a few touches like pillows in a coral color. --You know that a room is supposed to be made up of three colors. The sage , cream and a small amt of third color coral is a very pretty look. Some people add black pillows or touches of black instead of coral . Black painted furniture is very popular now. I just bought a black desk that looks pretty against the colors you mention.. Try black touches- sage and cream---or go with the cream and coral. I think you will be happy with either look. Good luck to you-- i love decorating and I do like color in my house instead of bland walls.
Reply:Lavender, pale and darker pinks, soft yellows, darker shade of green, light blues, and creams/beige.

I have sage colored paint on my bathroom walls and the furniture is white.?

what color should the towels, bath rugs and accessories be?

I have sage colored paint on my bathroom walls and the furniture is white.?
I would mix up your towels in a basket with sand and brown and even some white. Use a sand rug. But what color is your floor? I would try to blend the rug to the floor. I personally think that it looks choppy to use an accent rug in a color. You might even try a shag rug. Very popular now.

Use a straw basket to hold your daily use items if you do not have drawer space or a medicine cabinet. Add some greenery to the countertop and a nice scented candle. Maybe lavendar for evening relaxaion and a citrus to liven you up in the morning.

A muted, greyish purple and golds/yellows also would go. Black and violet could be another combo.Yellow, burgundy with green, yet another. Textures also bring in color as well as organic items.

If you have a fairly large bathroom, a glass door cabinet would look nice or an armoire. A small chest of drawers in a warm tone, would be nice if you need additional storage (if your furniture that you are referring to is the cabinetry). You could also use a metal or wooden planter stand to hold towels. Try to look at three colors in coordinating. Black also looks nice with sage. You have a sofisicated look, so I would not go too wild with colors. I would stay away from vibrant ones.

Pick up some sample face clothes to try out the color combinations that you like. Then return what you don't.

The lighter shade of green, or earthy tones will keep your look soothing and clean. Add some organic pieces which will create color and texture. Don't use bathtub pictures.

Use botanicals or sea creatures. You can always choose a scene that shows a fountain.

Play around. Choose your favorite colors. Maybe bring a painted piece of wood to the store. Although the lighting will be different at your home.

Good Luck
Reply:Choose different (darker) shades of sage, and choose a bold color to make it more interesting than being just all beige.
Reply:dusty purples. dusty teal lt yellow if u'r going 4 the soft look.

If u want it to POP.. then certain oranges/ dk teal, purples...
Reply:a nice color that accents both
Reply:Sage green and white are fresh, natural colours that would be nicely complimented by other garden like hues such as lavender, yellow, or even turquoise. Use white and deeper shades of your sage green also in your accesories if you like. The best way to tie together your mix of colours is to find a patterned wallcovering, shower curtain or towels, and pull out the seperate colours and use them in solid colour towels, rugs etc. The colours in your pattern will now dictate your colour scheme choices and you will be sure that it all will work together. This approach also works well in a bedroom, where I recommend you find patterned bedding first and then pull your favorite colours out of it and use them in your paint, carpet, etc.
Reply:The best way to find out how the colors will work with the secondary and neutral colors that you have is to go to the paint section of your local hardware or paint store and pick out the matching color swatches. From there pick out the third color and hold them up together and see how well you like the colors together. You may not like the colors that I would choose. Here are some helpful decorating links with tips on how to use colors in your home.

Does anyone have a suggestion to substitute sage with?

My husband hates it, but my recipe for Saltimboca calls fot it.

Does anyone have a suggestion to substitute sage with?
Sage in saltimboca imparts a distinct taste not found in any other herb. It wouldn't be saltimbocca without it, however, if you just eliminate it the final product is now commonly referred to as Veal Monte Cristo. If you want to add color to the product just finely chop some Italian parsley and garnish the product after it is cooked. Another alternative would be to replace the sage leaf with a fresh basil leaf it will be totally different in flavor but would work well.
Reply:I use marjoram ( a milder herb, similar to oregano ) in my recipe. Also thyme and / or fresh rosemary is a good substitute.
Reply:As those people are not familiar with the dish your cooking, I am I was a chef for a number of years and did work in Northern Italian based operations, for that, a few sprigs of flat leaf parsley (tops only) is fine even a touch of garlic rubbed on the meat or to get the parsley and prosciutto to stick mix a bit of oil and chopped garlic, put the ham down and the parsley on top and the roll, I use large cocktail sticks of small bamboo skewers cut in half, just enough to fold over the meat and brown them well.

Sauce wis I alway prefered a marsala and butter reduction, but white wine is fine also.
Reply:rosemary is a good alternative.
Reply:since he doesn't like sage, you won't want to use poultry seasoning (the main ingredient is sage) ... try oregano or thyme
Reply:Thyme, plus perhaps a little fresh chopped rosemary.
Reply:Try some poultry seasoning.
Reply:Just leave it out. It should be fine.

How do I get rid of my sage brush/tumble weed plants?

It has a really deep tap root and I can only pull up a couple before I'm exhaust. They're in the rock section of my yard and are getting huge. What can I do? Their stems too thick for the usual weed whacker.

How do I get rid of my sage brush/tumble weed plants?
Roundup. You can get it at Lowe's in a spray bottle. But be careful when you spray, because Roundup will kill everything. Don't do it on a windy day.
Reply:Roundup

Where can i find a good Sage Accounting course online?

I live in England, and want to broaden my career sights. Im 21, been in employment for 4 years, but would like to go into accounting as i feel i would be good at it.

Better than the current job i have, as a factory supervisor.

Where can i find a good Sage Accounting course online?
You are better off taking a basic bookkeeping course rather than one specifically for Sage. Although Sage is the most popular software package there are lots of others. I suggest this is something you would do better to learn from a book than online. There are plenty of good books on bookeeping - just check out your local bookshop or go online.

Another approach is simply to buy the basic version of the Sage software, which costs about £ 120, and learn it at home using the Help and Tutorials.

Also it impresses employers if you have become a member of a professional body and have started studying for a recognised qualification.

What are the health risks of smoking sage, wild, or home grown tobacco?

I'm sure it isn't as harmful as the over the counter packs with added chemicals to ensure your addiction, but is there any evidence out there about just how harmful sage, wild, or home grown may be?

What are the health risks of smoking sage, wild, or home grown tobacco?
The risks are lung problems for starters. Smoking stuff you roll yourself is worse because there is no filter. You are still at risk for lung cancer, hypertension, atherosclerosis, emphysema, chronic bronchitis and many other problems. All of these things and the meds you have to take to treat them will eventually lead to other health problems, like heart problems, kidney failure, liver disease, poor blood circulation, activity intolerance .... Still wanna smoke? I work o a lung transplant floor at a hospital and trust me, you don;'t want to have to go through that. They make two large incisions on your back, that are closed by staples (which is really fun to lay on all night), they put tubes into your lungs to drain fluid that apparently hurt like hell, you are hooked up to several IVs, you are on meds that cause you to gain weight, high blood pressure, get a type of diabetes, and put you at a really high risk for infection from even the most common bacteria. You have to take these meds every day of your life as scheduled or you will reject your transplant (your body will attack it) and then you will have to either get another or slowly die. Trust me, smoking is not worth it. I have become so against it after seeing the effects of smoking all of the time.
Reply:Anytime you suck smoke down your lungs you are hurting yourself.

What decor goes good with sage green furniture?

We've just moved into a new apartment and we have new furniture. We've run into a little bump in the road trieing to find anything to match it.

What decor goes good with sage green furniture?
well if you can go get a swatch..a color guide and then play with that with the sage green. if it is pastels then stick w/ that. Just don't mix sage green w/ neon green..if you know what i mean. anyways play off of it w/ some lighter greens and a bit darker green and blues and yellows should mix well. maybe a lighter green than sage on your chair w/ a dark green textured pillow like velvet or cordoroy. on the couch play up the pillows w/ different colors of green. also purple goes great w/ green. if you have an area rug that goes well with the furniture then pick out all the colors of your rug and play that into the mix. well hope that helps. God bless
Reply:If you have green furniture beige in a netural tone is a great match up.*
Reply:In my opinion, orange or orangish brown would look good with it. (of course, I'm also imagining light wood floors and white curtains) It depends on stuff like that. Green (or jade or whatever) is an earthy color, so it looks good with other light and earthy colors.

Do I have to prime over dark brown paint if I am using a sage green over it? It is on the outside of my house.

I am thinking of painting the trim on my house. It is currently dark brown, and I want it to be a sage green. The brown is in good shape yet so can I just paint over that with the green or do I have to prime it?

Do I have to prime over dark brown paint if I am using a sage green over it? It is on the outside of my house.
Since you're not painting bare wood or metal, the primer would actually be wasted. Save it for actual priming. Get a "blockout" paint, such as Kilz, or simply good quality white or even yellow. This will lighten the surface so the darker brown doesn't bleed through, and chances are you'll only need one coat of the green. Were you using something dark like a hunter green, then I'd say go ahead and paint it right over the brown. But sage green? Nope. The brown beneath would darken it.
Reply:The experienced painters say no, if the old paint is good and not chalking.

Personally, I would have the primer tinted to the same color as the new paint. Prime and paint, just to be on the safe side. But that's just me.
Reply:YES for your sake please do. anytime you go light over dark save yourself from having to paint... say oops... prime and paint again. just prime it.
Reply:Paint over the brown. It may take 2 coats but it will be faster than priming first.Priming is used when there is bare wood or high gloss on the present finish,or the finish is (chalking) rub your hand against the finish if your hand turns the color of the finish then wash and prime. I have 34 years in exterior and interior painting.
Reply:Since the brown is a darker color you would definitely want to use an exterior latex water based primer. If not you may have to go over the brown with several green coats to cover properly. Primer is generally used so the paint adheres well to the surface, but I always prime out the area if I am going from a darker color to a lighter one.
Reply:if you want the paint job to last, which some painters do not, prime the house first. primer helps the new paint bond to the old, and seals the old job, so it won't bleed or show through. if you've ever seen a house that's all flaky and peeling, that's what can happen without primer first. skipping the primer can lead to allagatoring, and feathering, where the new paint pulls the old coats apart, or the new paint peels off. latex paint is more flexible than oil and old dried out latex, so priming will help prevent these problems. i know, because i see it all the time, and my father in law did it to my current home, that we bought from him. i do siding and roofing for a living, and cover up these problems.
