I'd keep googling on ebay and amazon. If there's anything in print, I'd try there. BTW, your question's inspired me to go home tonight and work up "Henry"... Good Luck!

How to make dry sage?

Should I cut only the leaves?

How to make dry sage?
To dry herbs naturally, bundle them together with string. Hang them on a hook in dry place. They dry out in about a week.

Remove the leaves and put them in a sealed jar.
Reply:Yup...and it's good!
Reply:cut the leaves only.
Reply:If you can't hang it upside down - try thinly spreading the leaves on paper towel %26amp; leave in a dark dry place for a few weeks.
Reply:if you ant to dry sage, eithercut off the leaves, andstore it in a cool dry place until it is brittle, or hang the whole plant, except the root upside down from a hook or string so that it doesn't touch anything until it is dried
Reply:Cut the stalks off of the bush and hang them upside down in a closet for a few days. No, I'm serious.

I just bought this Iron Horse Sage bike. Is this a good bike?

It's called a Sage by Iron Horse. It has a Shimano shifter, and it has wheels that are flat in the center for road cycling. If I put mountain bike wheels on this, would it be acceptable for mountain biking?

I just bought this Iron Horse Sage bike. Is this a good bike?
Roger... Iron Horse has several current World Champions, so don't exactly know what you mean by being "watered down". Yes, they now offer MORE bikes, but the Sunday is still the premier DH of all time.

Anyway, the Sage is a comfort bike, so the components and frame are made for on road and groomed/paved trails. Putting MTB wheels and tires on it will not make it any more of an MTB but MIGHT make it weird to ride.

I would never recommend that this bike be used for off road riding outside what I mentioned above- it just won't take the abuse and the suspension isn't intended for MTB.
Reply:Yeah, I used to have the same one.

It's a great bike with a nice flexibility.

And yes you did a great job putting that, it should be acceptable i guess
Reply:It's ok... You probably could have found better buys. Over the years Iron Horse has gotten wattered down, they seem to be moving away from the real riders. But enjoy and ride.

How is SAGE marketed in stores?

Usually it's found dried in bottles in the spice section. Occaisionally you can find fresh - but not often.

If you're looking for stuffing etc, the rubbed, dried herb should be fine as long as it not too old.

How is SAGE marketed in stores?
as a fresh or dried HERB
Reply:You can buy fresh sage in the produce dept. in most super centers. Ground or rubbed sage on the spice rack. I like to use the rubbed sage it seemes to have a better aroma .

When is a good time to prune Texas Sage?

Light pruning can be done anytime. The generally recommended time to prune is in February or March. You can remove as much as one-third of the foliage at this time without causing much stress. Use hand pruners to selectively remove portions of branches.

I don't have a picture, but a friend used bm dress 6483 in sage. It didn't look blue at all, though I have to tell you that the irredensent taffeta is not the prettiest fabric. It looked wrinkled and unkempt even though they were freshly pressed.

Are sage leaves safe and effective for teeth whitening?

.

Are sage leaves safe and effective for teeth whitening?
I not too sure abt it. However, there are many ways to whiten ur teeth.

Here are many ways that you can whitening your teeth!

For home remedies.

Mix baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to form toothpaste. Brush the teeth regularly with this paste. It will remove all stains in a month.

Use bicarbonate of soda 5 minutes before brushing the teeth with normal toothpaste in the morning. This is a good home remedy for teeth whitening.

Rubbing the bark of walnut tree on the teeth helps in removing all stains from the teeth.

Strawberries are considered natural teeth whiteners. Rubbing the teeth with strawberries daily will remove all the stains.

If you would like a suggestion on tooth whitening gel, here's something for you!

Crest Night Effects Whitening Gel (about $18.00) allows you to remove stains while you sleep. The tooth whitening system has a fresh, wintergreen flavor. After fourteen days of sleeping with this product on your teeth, you will wake up to a vibrant smile. You should see results in two days, although there are reports of tooth whitening results in one night

Reply:Im not sure if they help with teeth whitening but they should be safe unless they have pesticides on them.

you might just want to try putting a little bit of baking soda on the top of your tooth paste when you brush your teeth. that's safe and REALLY effective. and dont worry...there isnt much of a taste.

OK I'm confused i got sage sofas Burgundy walls and cream trim how do u think it will look?
i think it would look better if the walls were sage, and the sofas burgundy. burgundy walls would look much better with dark brown furniture (maybe leather)

if you put some dark burgundy cushions on the sage sofas, that will help pull the colors together.

hopefully the sage color of your sofas is a greyish sage, without too much green, as grey looks fantastic with burgundy.
Reply:I think it could look very nice but you have to try not to have too many separate disjointed colors. I would look for some curtains, pillows, rugs, art work, accessories, etc. that have sage, burgundy and cream in them. That will tie the look together.

Help with wall colours to compliment sage green carpeting?

We have sage green carpeting in the living room and dining room and we'd like to paint. We really don't want tans or beiges in those rooms and would like something with some colour though preferably not too intense of a colour. The flooring just outside these rooms is a bleached clay coloured tile and we need the wall colour to visually flow from the tile to the green carpet to the walls. Any advice on what colours to use? Thank you

Help with wall colours to compliment sage green carpeting?
light blue and or reds
Reply:if you are trying to bring them all together consider trying a warm pale yellow bisque color with a sage accent strip near the chair rail area of the wall.

paint it no more than 1 inch wide and have it course down one wall toward the floor
Reply:I don't know that any color will tell your sage green carpeting how pretty it is. Now, if you mean "complement" not "compliment" someone should be able to help you.
Reply:You can do the walls in a bone grey white with a sage green tone to it. You would have to have it mixed by the paint store. This will pick up the sage green carpeting. It also will blend with the bleached clay colored tile. My suggestion would be to go to a good paint store and pick out paint chips in that color scheme and bring the chips home and see how you like them.

What a good wed site that lets you know where to plant your trees and not hurt the sage system?

or electoral system

What a good wed site that lets you know where to plant your trees and not hurt the sage system?
I assume that you are concerned about planting trees near a septic system, or maybe near the sewerage line that runs from your house to the city sanitary sewer. In either case, you are smart to be concerned. Tree and shrub roots can render either system inoperable and lead to very expensive fixes. Here is a great website that will give you all kinds of practical and useful information:

http://www.inspect-ny.com/septic/fieldpl...

As to possible problems with an electrical system, the main concern is with trees growing in the vicinity of overhead wires. Best advice is to check out the growth characteristics of the trees you are thinking about planting. You need to know how big they will eventually get, and plan their placement accordingly. For instance, if you knew that a particular species canopy grew to a maxim of 50' in diameter, you wouldn't want to plant it closer than about 30' (just to be on the safe side) from the overhead lines. A Yahoo! search for "tree identification" will result in lots of sites with the specific growth characteristics of most common trees.

Good luck with your tree planting plans.

Sage Dressing Recipe?

I love sage dressing and it is getting close to the Thanksgiving holdiay. I am an okay cook but just never really like my dressing. I would prefer one with a cornbread base and no meat. Does anyone have a good recipe that YOU like? Seriously I would prefer YOUR recipe rather than a web link - I have looked them up forever and yet here I am begging y'all for help.

Sage Dressing Recipe?
Our family recipe for Cornbread Dressing with Sage is more than a century old. Good Southern cooking doesn't age. To your cornbread ( one square pan) that uses no sugar please! Crumble the cornbread and add in the amounts you want, diced celery with plenty of leaves, 1 bell pepper diced and one large onion diced. Add 2 to 3 TB of dried or rubbed sage, or 1/2 cup fresh - actually we never use the fresh for our dressing. Salt and pepper to taste, pour over 1 cup chicken broth or juices from your roasting chicken or turkey, adding more until you have nice wet dressing. Finally melt one cube of butter and pour over the dressing mixing really well. Bake in 350 oven in buttered pan until crisp on top and brown all over. If you wish to substitute vegetable broth for the chicken please do. Enjoy!
Reply:Take your prepared cornbread and cut it into cubes, about 1 inch.

In a large skillet, saute some celery slices (1 stick), 2 cloves garlic (fresh %26amp; chopped), 1 med. onion (chopped small), about 1/2 cup chopped parsley, 1/2 cup chopped fresh sage (or 1 tsp. dried) in olive oil AND butter. Saute then set aside.

In same skillet, saute cornbread cubes briefly, then add other ingredients back in. Pour 1 C warm chicken broth over and heat everything through, about 5 min. Toss lightly. If you're vegetarian, you can use veg. broth instead. Season w/ salt, pepper %26amp; cayenne pepper to taste. You won't be sorry!! :)
Reply:Here's a couple recipes I've used and really enjoyed :)

Apple Cranberry Sage Dressing

3 cups cubed French bread, fresh or day-old (you can replace with corn bread)

1/2 cup chicken stock

3 eggs, beaten

1/4 cup whole milk

2 onions, peeled and diced

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

3 tart apples such as Granny Smith, peeled, cored, and cut into medium dice

1/2 cup dried cranberries

3 tablespoons chopped fresh sage, or 1 1/2 tablespoons dried

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Soak the bread cubes in the chicken stock, egg, and milk until all the liquid is absorbed.

Saute the onions in the butter until translucent. Add the apples and continue cooking until the apples have just begun to soften (about 7 to 8 minutes). Remove from the heat and cool before combining the onion and apple mixture with the bread cubes.

Lightly stir in the herbs, dried cranberries and seasoning, and pour the mixture into a 2-quart ovenproof dish. Bake for 35 minutes. Serve hot in the baking dish.

Sage Dressing

1 pound dense country white bread, cut in 3/4-inch cubes

6 tablespoons unsalted butter, plus more for greasing the baking dish

2 leeks, halved lengthwise

4 to 6 ounces button or wild mushrooms, sliced 1/3-inch thick

Oil

1 1/2 cups thinly sliced celery

2 to 3 teaspoons crumbled dried sage

1 1/2 teaspoons dried thyme or dried marjoram, or a combination

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

3 cups chicken or turkey stock

2 large eggs

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Fresh sage or thyme sprigs, for garnish

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.

Toast the bread cubes on baking sheets for about 25 minutes, stirring once or twice, until lightly brown and crisp. Transfer them to a large bowl.

Butter a 9 by 13-inch baking dish and set aside.

Brush the leeks and mushrooms with oil and grill over medium heat until tender. Slice the white and pale green part of the leek and add them along with the mushrooms to the croutons. Warm 6 tablespoons of butter in a skillet and stir in the celery. Saute until soft, about 7 minutes. Add the sage, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine and scrape into the bowl of croutons. Add the stock 1 cup at a time until the bread is very moist but not soupy. Cover and refrigerate the dressing until ready to use.

Turn the oven up to 425 degrees F.

Taste and adjust the seasoning of the dressing. Whisk the eggs and baking powder together and incorporate into the dressing. Spoon the dressing into the prepared baking dish and cover. Transfer to the oven and bake for 25 minutes. Uncover and continue baking 15 to 20 additional minutes, or until lightly browned and crusty on top.

Garnish with the herb sprigs and serve the dressing hot.
Reply:Here is my recipe. You may use it if you like, but it has meat and no cornbread. You can substitute cornbread instead of regular bread, but you need alot.

2 loaves bread (sit out overnight to dryout)

Celery Stalk

Onions (vadallia is the best)

meat (turkey,giblets,heart)

sage

salt %26amp; pepper

turkey broth

in a frying pan, sautee onions and celery ( I only use one onion for one stalk of celery)

while that is sauteeing, break the bread up into pieces (not too small) cut up some cooked turkey, giblets, and some of the heart

(if you prefer) put the bread in a large pan that can be placed in an oven. Add ingredients while pouring turkey broth to moisten the bread. Mix, don't stir. Add sage to your liking. I usually use half of a can, but you may use more or less. Once it's all mixed

place in the oven on 250 for about an hour. (or however dark you like your dressing). Thank you
Reply:The dressing that I use and my kids love and ask me every year for it is so simple.... Although not cornbread, it is delicious.

Saute garlic, onion and celery until limp. Use the pre-packed dressing from any company (Rainbow, Laura Scutters, or the store brand WITH the seasoning packet). Mix together with chicken broth and stuff. So good, melts in your mouth.

ingredients in large bowl; add onions and stir. Spoon into 1-1/2 qt

Reply:I prefer whole grain bread in my sage dressing, but you can use cornbread. To 3 C cornbread or other bread, add 2 ribs fresh chopped celery, 1 vsmall onion, chopped, 2 cloves fresh garlic, crushed/minced, 3/4 C sliced mushrooms(optional) 2 tbsp olive oil, and 1 can chicken, turkey, or vegetable broth. bake 20 minutes in preheated 325 degreeF oven.

What is it about SAGE that Indians believed 2Bsacred 4 spiritual cleansings??

TO SPIRITUAL RESEARCHERS/professional psychics: WHY DID INDIANS BELIEVE SAGE CAN purify atmospheres/expelling negative energies??

How can sage chase an evil entity away exactly?

p.s. I have personally used sage myself 'smudging' area's [even w/annoying neighbors] w/excellent results

I don't have an explaination why it works however

What is it about SAGE that Indians believed 2Bsacred 4 spiritual cleansings??
In my travels I ended up in a circle with old Indian men giving speeches. One man, Marvin, prayed then said something like (he worded it elegantly, my wording isn't) Our old people have always known that sage and sweetgrass is sacred and strong. They say evil does not like the smell of it and will run when it's lit. My brother tells the story of a man lighting sweetgrass in a home that needed prayer, and the back kitchen window broke suddenly, evil couldn't stand it so much, it broke the window to get out. That's why you always open a window a crack before you light it. That's proof that it works. They say, even people with evil minds will get angry when you light it...

That was a fun night for me. They lit it, and the sweetgrass smells real good.
Reply:Look inside your heart- that's where it lies...

spirits around us ,some good ,some bad. when I smudge with sage I accknowledge the bad/mischievious/. If you dont acknowledge the spirits on both sides they tend to pay one a visit..sweet grass acknowledges the good spirits.
Reply:It has to do with the smell of it. Spirits don't like the smell of vinegar or pepper either.
Reply:Umm...it's just one of the properties of sage. It's just great for protection and clearing. It breaks up the energy in that area. I guess my question is, what kind of an explanation are you looking for when you're asking a sort of metaphysical question. It just kinda does. :) I use it between readings or after healing sessions especially.
Reply:I found the booklet: SACRED SAGE: How It Heals by Silver Wolf Walks Alone ISBN 0-9640229-0-7 at the local health food store. It has a lot of the info you seem to be looking for. It cost about $5.

If I add fresh Sage leaves to my brine mixture will it have any effect to the taste of my turkey or would it..

be a waste of time and of fresh sage leaves? Or do you think it woud overpower the turkey flavor?

If I add fresh Sage leaves to my brine mixture will it have any effect to the taste of my turkey or would it..
My opinion is that because of the large amount of water required to brine a turkey, you'd need a lot of herbs (a few bundles at least) to make the flavor noticeable. The best way to get sage flavor in the meat is to loosen the skin of the turkey breast and back with your hand, then slide in a few leaves between the skin and the meat. You can also cut small slits into the thigh meat with a paring knife, and tuck in a few more leaves. Have a happy thanksgiving.
Reply:It is best to put the sage in the stuffing of the turkey rather than in the brine.
Reply:Sage, (unless used in bushel quantites) is a pretty mild herb. A good handful of fresh or dried sage in your brine would be wonderful.

If you are the frugal sort, you might save the brining sage and put a half dozen or so leaves in the turkey cavity along with an onion and an orange or lemon. You'll get a lot more 'bang' for your sage buck, and the 'yum' factor in your gravy will be that much greater!

Best wishes!
Reply:Fresh sage leaves is the best spice for any type of poultry. I even use it in my stuffing.
Reply:Rather than adding the leaves to the brine, loosen the skin from the back to the front and place the sage under the skin. It will be fragrant and really pretty as the turkey cooks.

Is salvia actually the seasoning sage?

If it is the store bought seasoning what X is it when bought in a regular size seasoning shaker?

Is salvia actually the seasoning sage?
no not that I know in there
Reply:There are around 1000 salvia cultivars. Some are grown for flowers some as a culinary herb, some as a medicinal herb (Salvia divinorum first use BTW) and many are considered weeds.

The Sage you buy at the store is not hallucinogenic. It is a salvia but very different than Salvia divinorum
Reply:It is the same genus as the hallucinogenic Salvia species, but not the same species. The Salvia genus contains several species of sages and mints, and the hallucinogenic species (Salvia divinorum) is not the same as the seasoning. No worries.
Reply:I don't think so
Reply:Salvia officinalis, is the herb used in seasoning our foods. Seems to be a lot of sudden questions and concerns with exactly what Salvia is, and is not. You can be sure that because of the rise in popularity over the legal intoxicant, Salvia divinorum, a lot of people are going to be smoking supermarket Sage, and growing garden Salvia, the annual landscape plant. Pretty remarkable. But to calm any fears about putting an intoxicant in your family dinner, it is not the same as Salvia, the dope.

What would be the best vehicle color choice for a business with sage and cranberry in their logo?

Dove gray or silver, also cream would class it up.

What would be the best vehicle color choice for a business with sage and cranberry in their logo?
not a bright color. something natural like white or tan. I would stay away from black because it is too dark
Reply:Black.
Reply:Maybe cranberry or sage. Duh.
Reply:I would go with a dark color, blues or black, make your logo stick out. Or just go completely crazy and make it stand out from all the rest and paint it something very bright, something that will make people turn there heads and look. =]
Reply:Silver
Reply:black, white, or tan......something nautral.
Reply:Dark Blue.
Reply:A turqoise vehicle would be good, or use a large base of turqoise in a geometric shape that is oppositional from that of the logo and place that on a white car and lay the sage and cranberry logo over the top of the center of the turqoise shape. For instance, an oval logo image over top of a tilted triangle shape in a complimentary color. Turquoise or robin's egg blue would be in the center on the color wheel between sage and cranberry so would be complimentary and eye catching.

Keep in mind this would not be appropriate depending on the nature of the business. Too creative of a flair for a plumbing company but just right for a creative business. Keep in mind the image you want to convey and emotion you want to incite with your color choices. Also, whose eye are you trying to catch? Who is your target market? Men are more attracted to primary colors, women to pastels for example.

Look at the ebay logo in ads for instance, they use red on purple on yellow on lime green bordered by orange headers and footers. Some of these colors really make logos pop, especially on white.
Reply:If you are putting the company logo on the vehicle, white would be best. If not, any color you want!!
Reply:I know it is boring, but white is best for color presentation. I agree with some of the people that said silver or gray, but white will really make your logo stand out, and visibility is the key to marketing.

The only other thing I would suggest is get the whole vehicle painted like one of those 3-D images you have to stare at squinting and cross-eyed to make out. I have never seen that done on a vehicle, but it would be an amazing effect. Of course, it would likely cause a few accidents.....
Reply:white or tan because they are natural looking colors

I have bread, sage, onion how do I make sage and onion stuffing?

Toast your bread and tear it up add the onion and quite a bit of sage. Take a big cup of hot tap water and slowly add water until bread is all softened. It's hard to say how much. I mix it with my

hands until I have the right consistency. I keep adding sage until it smells like stuffing.( I also add a little celery and sausage but it will be fine without it.)

I have bread, sage, onion how do I make sage and onion stuffing?
Tear up the bread (not really necessary to toast it). Dice onion, (celery too if desired, adds flavor), then sautee in butter or margerine till clear. I usually add some chicken buillon to hot water and mix in with onoins mixture. Add liquids to bread and mix with hands. Add sage, salt, pepper to taste.

Great for stuffing chicken, Pork chops, or just all by itself.

Bon Appetit ! ! !
Reply:i have two recipes one for in the bird and one for cooking in a pan both take the same ingrediants. 2 to 3 cups cubed bred, 1/2 cup cubed corn bread(optional) 1/4 to 1/2 cup sweet onion,1/4 to 1/2 pound of sweet or hot sausage( sweet is best) 1/2 cup of cut and peeled apples, cubed small. 2 eggs 2cups chicken broth or water, 1 teaspoon salt and pepper, 1 table spoon pluss of sage or poultry seasoning, minced celery (optional). mix the bread and cornbread together in a large bowl add the spices mix well, add sausage apple, sausage should be cooked and drained apple should be raw. celery and onions added also at this time mix this mixture well add two raw eggs and combine thourolly, i use my hands to mix at this point, the mixture will be on the dry loose side, now depending on if you are going to stuff a bird or not will depend on how much brothor water you will use. for stuffing a bird. add enough broth or water to hold the mixture together, so that if you pick up some it will hoild its shape if you were to squeeze it. then add an extra 1/4 cup and mix again, at this point you can add more sage if nessecary when i use this recipe i put in 3 table spoons of sage or poultry seasoning, my husband loves alot of sage, after determining if the spices are right for you .stuff your bird with the stuffing----- if you want to cook the stuffing on the oven mix all the ingrediants as above, except the broth or water. grease a pan big enough to hold the mixture begin to add the broth or water, mix well stop adding the liquid when the mixture resembles almost a cake batter. pour mixture into the greased pan put a few butter pattye on the top and bake at 350 for around 40 min or until the tooth pick comes out clean. i injoy the out of birdi injoy the stuffing that id put in the pan and baked over the one cooked in the bird. it is moister and for some reason tastes bolder. injoy all the ingrediants such as sausage and apples celery and corn bread are optional, you can use just bread egg and onion and spices for a nice dreessing.
Reply:Tear bread into a bowl, add chopped onion and chopped celery, add 1 beaten egg, season with salt, pepper and sage, pour on boiling water or hot meat stock and throw it in the pan...usually takes about an hour to an hour and a half to cook.

I use the sage until I can smell it faintly, too much sage can make it bitter! Do not be afraid to take a small taste to see if it is seasoned to your liking.

I want to roast a chicken...have usual suspects..rosemary, thyme, sage?

lemons, limes....want a crispy skin...start temp high go to low or start out low end with high?

I want to roast a chicken...have usual suspects..rosemary, thyme, sage?
Very easy. Heat the oven to 350. Salt and pepper the cavity. If you want, put a half onion and/or a few pieces of celery inside. Once the chicken is hot enough to melt butter, drop some pats of butter on it and salt and pepper the skin. I like rosemary and thyme together but not too strong. Just bake it in the oven for 20 min per pound. When the meat starts to shrink back from the leg bones a little, turn on the broiler and brown the skin to a pretty color. Never walk away with the broiler on, it's super fast and will ruin a meal super fast.
Reply:I actually love to cook but I cheat when it comes to a roasted chicken. I use a cooking bag and put a little celery inside the chicken for a simple but tasty flavor.

For a crispy skin, start low and end high. (You can roast the chicken til done and then sear it in the broiler to crisp the skin, watch it to prevent burning though.)

Use your imagines and the spices you have, rosemary and a touch of sage and just a pinch of thyme (unless the thyme is fresh, then lavish on!) Squeeze the lime on just before serving for a nice touch.
Reply:Clean, rinse %26amp; pat dry chicken. Slice citrus fruits along with a couple of cloves of garlic %26amp; place in cavity of chicken. Melt 1 stick of butter over low heat with assorted herbs broken up...Pour half of mixture inside chicken %26amp; the other half over the outside. Bake @ 350 for about an hour to hour %26amp; half - juices will run clear. If top starts to brown too much, cover with foil the last 20 - 30 minutes......Yummy!

I would serve wtih dressing, mashed potatoes %26amp; gravey, green beans or peas %26amp; fresh dinner rolls. don't forget the sweet tea!
Reply:My favorite way to roast a chicken,to have crispy skin is: buy

some rotisserie chicken seasoning, in the spice section of any

store.Then preheat oven to 400 degrees,use a whole chicken,

rinse it in cold water, then sprinkle all over with the seasoning.

Put the chicken in a roasting pan and bake on center rack, about

1hour--to--1hour and 15 minutes.

Enjoy!
Reply:Make some garlic butter and brush it on first. Add your seasonings and bake uncoverered at 325 f 20 minutes per pound.

Reply:TROPICAL CHICKEN

Serves 4

Pineapple sage is one of my favorite garden herbs. Island fragrance floats off the leaves of this plant, intoxicating the senses. In early fall, when the rest of the garden is drifting into slumber, this 6-foot-tall herb ignites the sky with a lipstick-red flower that’s just as tasty and heady as its leaves.

4 chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch chunks

20-ounce can pineapple chunks in juice

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup dark rum

2 sprigs cinnamon basil, chopped, stems removed

2 red peppers, cut into chunks

12 large pineapple sage leaves, torn in half

Skewers

1 handful pineapple sage flowers

Wash chicken and pat dry with a paper towel. Set aside. Reserving juice, drain pineapple chunks. Set aside. Mix pineapple juice, brown sugar, rum and basil in a medium-sized glass bowl. Place chicken in mixture and marinate for at least 30 minutes. Thread chicken, pineapple chunks, red peppers and pineapple sage leaves onto skewers, alternating ingredients.

Place skewers on prepared grill, away from direct heat. Grill for 5 to 6 minutes per side, basting with marinade. Garnish with pineapple sage flowers.

Does burning sage clean the room from negative energies?

What else can we do to clean the room from negative energies?

Does burning sage clean the room from negative energies?
Yes, it does. You can also mix Lavender essential oil with water, put the mixture in a spray bottle and spritz it around also.
Reply:You can use various sound methods; tibetan tingshags, drums, rattles, chimes, gongs, tibetan singing bowls.

White sage works well but followed up with sweetgrass is even better.

Lavender oil in an oil burner helps, as does mint oils.

Nettle, dried and used as a potpourri can keep things clear.

You can have negatively charged particles, but their movement is positive kinetic energy.

Burning sage will just make your room smell of burnt sage.

Be happy...

Reply:Burning sage is a Wicca practise to rid a place of evil or lost spirits.

Another is six week or earlier lambs blood paint around windows or doorways applied with natural fibers. This was used to stop spirits from re-entering.

you could always ask for some holy water. Take a cotton string and soak it in the holy water. Say a prayer and place the string into sea salt then place it around the area you wish protected. This is a mid evil practise to bond or trap any spirits that enter your protected area.

How do I create an invoice in Sage accounts?

If you want to create an invoice you need to go into customers and then there is an icon along the top which says invoice. You can create your invoice here and then get the program to post them to the appropriate accounts.

Hope this helps.

How do I create an invoice in Sage accounts?
There are 2 types of invoice. An invoice for customers and an invoice for suppliers. This can only be done once you have inserted all your customers details on the 'CUSTOMERS' section and if necessary have put in all your product details in the 'PRODUCTS' section.

Customer invoice:

There are 2 ways to create a customer invoice, this is the easiest.

1. Click 'INVOICING' on the main tool bar.

2. Click new/edit.

3. On the top right hand side of the invoice page you can select the format eg 'product' or 'service'. For convenience, allow the invoice numbering to be on 'AutoNumber'.

4. Use the drop-down function on the 'A/C' section to select the customer.

5. Now put in the product code/details/net price/VAT etc and save.

6. If you need to print it the return to the main 'INVOICING' page and highlight and print.

Supplier Invoice:

1. Open the 'SUPPLIERS' section from top toolbar.

2. Highlight your chosen supplier.

3. Click 'Invoice' and complete the details. It is so important that your 'N/C' (nominal code) is correct or it's a wasted exercise.

4. Save and print.

I would highly recommend that you hire someone to show you how to use this program properly. I actually attended an evening course. SAGE is really no use to you unless you know what your really doing. It wont take long to learn and it's worth it because it is a great time saver.

Good luck.

What to do with fresh sage?

Recipes or helpful hints, please! Thanks!

What to do with fresh sage?
Its great to use for stuffed pork tenderloin, very tasty, go to foodtv.com for recipe. Enjoy. Sage is also very good for your health.
Reply:Sage is lovely used with chicken, duck or turkey. Simply chop it finely with some lemon thyme and brush the bird with olive oil or soft melted butter. Sprinkle the herbs over and bake in the oven - you can make a delicious stuffing using it too - simply take about 2 cups bread crumbs, 1 egg, 1 very finely chopped onion, 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh sage, 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh thyme and some salt and pepper. You can add a bit of lemon rind if you like. Mix together and press firmly into the birds cavity. Poke a chunk of butter into it. I usually loosely wrap my baking bird in aluminum foil for the first 1/2 an hour, then unrwap the foil and let it brown, use a pastry brush to brush the pan juices over the bird. A well cooked chicken takes about 11/4 hours - bigger birds longer of course.

You can also chop finely the sage and mix with lemon juice and a bit of parsley and some olive oil and brush over chicken drumsticks and then bake them. Also delicious on chicken or shrimp Kebab sticks and bbq - serve with fresh sliced different types of melons and minted iced tea. Delicious.
Reply:butternut squash raviolis in a sage butter sauce, google the reciple its to die for
Reply:Stuff it in your next roasted chicken or turkey. MMMMmmm!
Reply:You dry the fresh sage. When I was little my Grandma spread out sage on a screen (same as a screen in a window) in her attic. Then she put it in jars and used it all year. I think it is difficult to use unless it is dried. Then you can crumble and crush it.

On 4chan.org, what does it mean when they say BUMP or SAGE or other words like that?
Bump is usually a generic post used on some forums to keep a thread at the top of the list. By posting something new you bump it from the bottom of the list to the top, hence the post BUMP.

How good is Sage Line 50 Course.Would it really enhance your employment chances.?
Depends what you want to do. I did the LearnDirect Sageline course online when I was temping and quite liked it. It taught me that I didnt want to be a book keeper or acountant though I have a couple of ideas for my own small business on the side Im always mulling over and Im confident I can do my own accounts now.

Its another thing to stick on your CV as well though if you dont actually want to work in Finance you should probably make up some reason about why you did it like a greater understanding of how companies work as a few of the interviewers I had seemed a bit confused about it.
Reply:I think this course is definately well worth it, and its a great way to meet people. I am currently completing a SAGE course and it is piss easy. Employers also like this on your CV so overall it is a great course to be on.

Highly recommend it!

What color can I add to mint green paint to make it darker, more like a sage color ?

black. by very small degrees. youmay also have to add a bit of yellow to move it away from blue-green to yellow green.dont add brown--that will take it into the red family. when adding color to existing paint, you should use only black, white, or a primary color.for sage green you must stay away from red, orange blue and brown.there is already enough blue in the mint green--sage green is a warm grey/green, not a cool blue/green

What color can I add to mint green paint to make it darker, more like a sage color ?
raw umber; raw, not burnt, umber...with small amounts (very small), umbers are very strong colours and you can always add, but it is a real bear to take it out once it is in. raw umber reads to the green scale of the colour wheel, whereas burnt umber will point to the red side. and if you want to go for the sage colour, you may want to put a bit of silver (or grey) or white in there, too, again in very very small amounts. don't get impatient with the process, these colours are easily added and extremely difficult to remove once you've added them (o.k. I'm being facetious here, they cannot be removed once they've been added)
Reply:Hmmm... I would think you would need to add a deep sage green. tint. I would think the mint green would have a lot of white (like a pastel) and you don't want it to be greyish. If it is a can of paint you could always take it back to the store and they will add/alter the color is you do not like how it originally turned out.
Reply:black and/or brown paint
Reply:You can add a dark gold colour, almost bronze. In little bits, though, get the shade just right.
Reply:Add black but don't let the shade get any darker than where you want to end up. If you lose too much green you can add some dark green.

If you are messing with one gallon, it might be a good idea to pour off half a gallon and give it a try, if you go too far you may be able to fix it with the rest of the gallon.
Reply:You'll want to add some black or some brown. If you add anything else, you'll change the color too much. Add just a little bit at a time, so you don't overpower the mint green.
Reply:if you really wanted to solve this problem and we're only talking a gallon take it to where you baught it and the'll do it for ya if it's less then a gallon your better off just buying another gallon

With a sage green room what color should i paint some old dressers, white or off white?

Paint the dressers white using a semi-gloss latex paint. For an added touch, replace the hardware on both of the dressers with the antique looking glass knobs. Even if your dressers are different using the same hardware will pull them together and make them appear as if from a set. If you use off-white to paint the dressers they will always look dirty. Usually off-white is used when you plan on distressing the edges to make it appear old or antiqued.

With a sage green room what color should i paint some old dressers, white or off white?
Off white, because sage green is a warmer tone of green and off white is warmer than white. You'll get a cozier feeling with the off white.
Reply:cream, brown, maroon...
Reply:white for a cottage look

off white for a different look
Reply:You could do either. I personally would do the off-white because it would add some warmth versus the white which can sometimes seem cold. With either color though, you have a nice pallet for a "shabby chic" room. Have fun!
Reply:If you choose off-white the room will have more of a vintage look. If you choose white, it will look more crisp and clean. Your choice. Either would work.
Reply:off white

Will purple sage grow in Ohio?

If you are referring to the culinary sage, I don't see why you would not be able to grow it.

Salvia officinalis 'Purpurascens' (purple sage) is rated to USDA Z5. So, if you are in a lower zone you can always treat it like an annual.

Here are some links with useful information:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salvia_offi...

If you are meaning a different Salvia, please update your question and I will try to see if I can help further. :)

Will purple sage grow in Ohio?
If you're talking about the 3' high annual, yes. I have a border filled with it. It reseeds so well I have it all over. Yard, neighbor, All Over. Love it, and I leave it where it doen't cause a problem infringing on other plants. Lovely splash of purple.

What sage advice would you give to first-time parents???

Personally, I would say:

Your first child is the one that turns your life upside down the most... Getting used to the disrupted sleep pattern and that this very small soul being TOTALLY dependant on you...

Funny how all the books and websites NEVER seem to tell you straight about the upheaval...

So, what advice would you give???

What sage advice would you give to first-time parents???
Take all advice with a grain of salt.

Don't sweat the small stuff. Enjoy your children. Let them wear cowboy boots with shorts or blue pants with a green shirt, red socks and an orange hat if they want (be sure to take a pic!), eat cake for breakfast occasionally, play in the rain with your children. Let the housework and meetings and deadlines go.

Enjoy each stage. You'll long for it once it passes. Don't rush your child to grow up and be so independant so fast. (ie starting solids, potty training, ect) They will grow up and be independant without you pushing them.
Reply:Relax.

Babies are pretty resiliant.
Reply:My best advice was do not change things for the baby. For example:

Don't change your thermostat. If you are comfortable, the baby will be fine and adjust. Don't change your noise level. If you are always quiet while the baby is sleeping, they will wake at every little noise.

Finally, always do what you think is best. It is not about what other people believe, it is about doing what you think is best. You may seek out answers from others but take the advice that makes you feel most easy.

A friend of mine said that she was up with the baby all night because she had a cold and the mother wanted to make sure she was breathing OK. I told her that my kids are 8 and 2 and I still check on them during the night to make sure they are breathing OK because I love them and need the reassurance that they are safe. Your life will be harder, but you will find so many more positives, you will not even notice.

GOOD LUCK!!
Reply:I would say three things:

1)Just remember that the worst part is the first three months! It's awful but just keep your head down and know that it gets so much better around 4months. By then, they've developed more physically and they start to smile and interact.

2)It's okay to walk away sometimes. I know that most parents (especially mothers) don't talk about it..but there is a dark side to being a parent. There are times when you feel yourself getting so frustrated, so angry that you're on the verge of being out of control. It's okay to feel like that and it's okay to put the baby in the crib to go compose yourself.

3)Everyone is going to give you A LOT of advice... go with your gut. Like if you start to co-sleep and your mom says that it's a bad habit to start or your wife stops breastfeeding and her girlfriend says "breast is best!!!" or whatever....don't listen to someone who isn't living it. Listen to your instincts and you all are going to be just fine. Good luck!
Reply:The best advice I can give (coming from a first time mom with a 2 month old preemie) is be patient!!!! babies only know a few things in the world, sleep eat and poop. they can't tell u yet what they want, so when they cry take a deep breath and dive in, it's a bumby ride, but you get used to it. and sometimes, when you have tried everything and they still aren't happy, just let them cry, it doesn't hurt anything. and never ever be afraid to ask for help when you need a break for a little while, parents, friends neighbors, your not a bad parent, you just need some quiet time too.
Reply:Sage advise? Listen to everyone, then make up your own mind. Be sensible and use common sense when caring for your baby. Remember that Doctors are still "practicing!" LOL As for Sages, when listening to advise, should you listen to those who are also drowning or those who have done it right? If you wanted to invest your lifes savings, who would you follow, the man who managed his money poorly or the one who is financially secure? Hummm..boy that puts a twist on all the people who, LOL, are saying "hang on, it gets better!" Watch parents who ARE doing it right. Their babies and the parents are well rested. All are healthy, their lifestyle is calm, the babies are calm and relaxed and happy, the older children are well behaved and have nice manners, and you can enjoy being with their family, etc. It is possible. :) Have fun with your baby. Thats my idea. :) diannatriplett@yahoo.com
Reply:Make sure you are financially set to have a child.

You must have insurance that covers the pregnancy, and labor/delivery.

Have maternity leave.
Reply:The most important thing is to not forget that you and your wife are lovers, best friends, and confidants. That hasn't changed, and hopefully it never will. Schedule some time for each other every day. Ten minutes a day to sit and relax with each other while your baby is sleeping will make a world of difference in relieving the stress and pressure of being new parents.

Keep the lines of communitcation between the both of you open. Whether it's discussing a parenting issue, gossip, work, the news, the bills, or something cute that your child did that day, it's important to talk about anything that you feel. Even just sitting and zoning out on the latest sitcom together can be extremely helpful in keeping the two of you in love, and in turn, provide a better life for your child.
Reply:I agree with you. My little one is now 15 months and things are smooth sailing now. It's like people with kids keep it a secret until you have one. Then they start talking about how much work they are and how the first few months are hell. I would just tell new parents to hang in there. It gets easier.........until they walk!!!!!
Reply:Be very flexible. Don't stress out when you're late to everything for the first 2 months. Use good judgment. Just don't stress out. LOL
Reply:Throw all your expectations out of the window!! We had all sorts of ideas and plans on how we would raise our son before he was born, but then found ourselves doing exactly what we'd intended not to. No amount of reading (books and websites), in our opinion, can prepare you for the actual day-to-day experience of looking after a first child. Everything from sleeping patterns and arrangements, to feeding and bathing, seem not to go the way you'd hoped. And then when you talk to other parents in the same situation, you discover that they also found themselves in a 'sink or swim' situation. Our son is now four-and-a-half, but he's never conformed to the 'model' child in all the books we studied. He even started talking very, very, late which was an additional source of worry. I'd recommend that first-time parents play things by ear as much as possible without comparing themselves and their child to others. And they should get support and encouragement from people they know or come into contact with rather than read about so-called 'average' or 'normal' children in books and magazines, or on the net.
Reply:That when you just roll with everything, the routine, including lack of sleep, becomes A LOT easier. Getting upset or stressed out makes it worse.
Reply:trust your instincts

just when you think you have them figured out...they grow a bit and everything shifts!

have fun
Reply:I found the opposite to be true. Everyone tells the new parents, sleep now! It will be horrible after the baby comes. Go out to dinner now, b/c it will be years before you can go again. You life will never be the same again. It's like people overload the newbies with negative advice.

My friend is the hospital right now preggos with twins. I told her, everyone will tell you how scary it's going to be. No one seems to tell you that you will discover a love that takes your breath away. It's an all-consuming, powerful, raw love. And it's amazing!
Reply:As a first time parent.....understand that while your life will change drastically, it will be the best change your life will ever have. Relax, enjoy every step of your child's development, don't sweat the small stuff, it's okay to make mistakes, it will get easier after the first three months, you don' t NEED all of the things that baby registries SAY you MUST have, don't be afraid to ask for help, and most of all ENJOY!!!!!!!!!
Reply:I think waking up in the middle of the night is just another great experience. It isn't always dreadful. I loved it, of course I was so tired, but you get use to it. A lot of the memories that I treasure of the baby are of night time feedings.

Just because she's the mother, don't expect her to do and know everything. I think often times the fathers feel out of place. What I'm trying to say is, just because he didn't carry the baby doesn't mean he can't change, feed, bathe, and whatever other tasks the mothers usually do. Sometimes the moms assume the fathers can't do any of this. He has instincts too.

Remember it's okay to ask for help from family.

Good luck.

Sage And Thyme, what r they mainly used on?

Sage and thyme have earthy flavors. They go well with pork, mushrooms, poultry, roasted potatoes, roasted dishes. For example,

I use fresh sage leaves when I'm roasting a turkey, I slip the whole leaves under the skin and bake them like that.

Thyme I put in pot roasts, roasted potatoes, sometimes egg dishes too. Thyme has a woody flavor so it goes good with things grown in the ground

Sage And Thyme, what r they mainly used on?
Chicken dishes.
Reply:I use sage mainly with poultry and thyme with poultry, anything tomatoey or pretty much anything savory.
Reply:I use sage primarily for poultry dishes and thyme for meaty robust recipes.
Reply:sage is used alot in turkey dressings and some times chili's Thyme I use on chicken, roasts, pork
Reply:Sage is used in sausage and chicken dishes. Thyme is used in Italian food, sausage and lots of other good things. Either one of these things is great to stuff under chicken skin and roast the whole bird in the oven or on a smoker or grill. Sage leaves fried in butter is a delicious go along with fried chicken.

Does RUSSIAN SAGE grow hardy and FAST??

About to get a little shipment of plants I ordered

1 of which was the all mighty russian sage [what gorgeous plant]

Is it pretty easy care?

will it really look like the ad in 'spring nursery' [haha, hope so by the end of summer or early fall]

Does RUSSIAN SAGE grow hardy and FAST??
I have several and they do great. I don't even give any supplemental irrigation to them (they are very drought tolerant). They can tend to get a little leggy if you let them. Trim them down heavily (nearly to the ground) in the early spring. I whacked mine off and they are nearly full size now. I let them stand alone as they can look very odd if put into groupings. They are very nice plants and require very little care (spring pruning is about all they need).

PS: Don't add fertilizer or then can get really wild and out of control.
Reply:Very easy care and very hardy, a wonderful perennial. You will be pleased
Reply:i have two of these. they grow like crazy. be careful where you plant, they will take over if you don't keep cutting it back.

I'd feel really bad for the kids, their not a song - their her children!!!

Sage is cute

Jade is Ok used up though

Melody is also

Sorry
Reply:Normally i don't go for the matching twin names but honestly i think this is a really cute idea. They are different names but with a "theme" and they are beautiful names.
Reply:Oh brother. In all honesty...that is beyond cheesy.
Reply:this is exactly why people under 25 shouldnt have kids those are really impractical names.....
Reply:they are lovely, I like them a lot.
Reply:I think that it is corny.
Reply:Melody seems very dated to me; it was popular briefly in the early 80s (my first My Little Pony was named Melody, and then there was Melody from the Nickelodeon show "Hey Dude"). I think there's also the problem that in music the melody is dominant, and the harmony must support it; do you really want your kids coming into the world pre-ranked? In addition, Melody has the easy nickname of Mel, but what do you call little Harmony? Harmony on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" was called Harm, but. . . she was a vampire.

Sage is kind of nice, but Jade, unfortunately, is going to sound just as dated as Doris, Jennifer, Sydney, Trinity, Darlene. .. any other name that was trendy briefly. A rule of thumb for baby names: the more expensive the item you name your baby after, the less likely it sounds that they will ever be able to afford it.
Reply:I don't like those names at all, but whatever suits her.
Reply:love them !!
Reply:It looks like your trying really hard to make the names be really similar...

Twins are two separate individuals and deserve their own names.
Reply:cheesy
Reply:creative i like... it sound great ...did she think about that all by herself these names are wonderful :-)
Reply:i think that is a ridiculous idea

sorry 2 ur friend, but those girls will get teased throughout school

i like sage and jade, and melody is ok, but harmony.. no!

What is the magical property of Sage?

I've read about it once a long time ago, or heard of it from someone, but I forgot. Does it even have any magical use or...you don't even have to call it magic, but just superstitious?

What is the magical property of Sage?
If there is negativity, burning white sage acts as a cleanser
Reply:Sage (Salvia Officinalis)

Folk Names: Garden Sage, Red Sage, Savage

Gender: Masculine

Planet: Jupiter

Element: Air

Powers: Immortality, Longevity, Wisdom, Protection,

Wishes

Magical Uses: Sage has been uilized to ensure a long life -

sometimes even immortality. This is doen by eating some of the plant every day, or at least in May, for:

He who would live for aye

Must eat sage in May

Sage is carried to promote wisdom, and the leaves are used in countless healing and money spells.

To guard yourself against contracting the dreaded evil eye, wear a small horn filled with sage.

There are a few curious gardening tops concerning sage:

first, it is bad luck to plant sage in your own garden; a stranger should be found to do the work. Second, a full bed of sage brings ill luck, so ensure that some other plant shares the plot. Incedentally, toads love sage.

If you desire to make a wish come true, write it on a sage leaf and hide it beneath your pillow. For three nights sleep upon it. If once you dream of what you desire your wish will be materialized; if not, bury the sage in the ground so that you don not come to harm.
Reply:Sage when taken internally can control flatulence (farting). Now that's magic.
Reply:Every herb and plant has different properties that affect the human body in different ways. Sage oil is good as a muscle cramp relaxer in seconds when applied directly. It's good internally in small amounts mixed with water, as a detoxifier, I think it is.
Reply:It's what I smudge/cleanse my house with. It gets rid of negative/bad energy, etc...
Reply:It's a good banisher, from what I remember of studying witchcraft/herbal folklore.
Reply:Sage cleanses and purifies ....rids a house or space or object or person of negative energy.

What do you think of sage green for a wedding color?

I love the color red, but it'll be a spring wedding, so I don't want to do red. Also because some friends just used that color for their wedding.

My fiance's favorite color is green and I think that works well with the season. Except I read that green is associated with envy and immaturity. Would you think that if you went to a wedding with a green theme? What other color(s) could I combine it with?

What do you think of sage green for a wedding color?
Red is so overdone anyway! You don't want that! Haha. As far as green is concerned, it looks really great with a complimentary shade of purple. Another great color combo is fuchsia/white(or ivory)! Try the website listed under "sources", too! I also know that Impressions has a gorgeous new swatch of colors available for Fall 2008!

Happy hunting!
Reply:Sage is beautiful for a wedding, don't read so much into what colors mean...nobody's thinking about that but the people who read too much Bride's magazine. And consider the source, weddings have been the same for hundreds of years, they've got to find SOMETHING to fill the pages between advertisements (even though there are so few).

Lilacs would look pretty next to your sage, but you can put almost any color flower with it and it'll be amazing. fuscia Stargazer lillies, Orange Tiger lillies...you can use such cool colors next to the sage and your pictures will be awesome.

Don't overthink every detail and the meaning of every grain of sand...you'll drive yourself crazy.

Relax and have a beautiful wedding.
Reply:Sage, cream, and chocolate would look lovely. Don't worry about what the colors mean, worry more about the skin tones of your bridesmaids and the time of day to determine if that color is right for you. :-) And -- I think if you want red, you should have red! I have been to three weddings who went black, white, and red; one was in the winter, one in the spring, and one in the summer. Enjoy your big day!
Reply:before my guy said he wanted a medieval theme I wanted a sage green wedding and i looked into it, lilac or lavender looks great with it, though i found it looks best as the accent color. but since you don't like purple 'see i did read your question' light and cool blues would work in place of the purples, just remember to keep it light as sage is a nice grounding color. A good thing you might want to do is find the flower you want and use that color,
Reply:I love sage! I started off wanting sage and then I went darker because one of my girls didn't think that she'd look good in light green (that's a whole other story though). Now, clover, lavender and white are my wedding colors! I think that they'll look beautiful... I've had some opposition from my family regarding the colors, but they'll see that it will be great. I'll send you some links of what were doing. I hope this helps! Just go with what you want and you won't have regrets. Best wishes!

Reply:I love green and for a wedding sage green is a beautiful color!! I don't think it's associated with envy or immaturity, neither do I think when people do to a wedding they will think that. I think the sage green goes nice with a nice brown.
Reply:Sage is a very beautiful color and don't worry about what they say the color means as long as you like it, then that's all what really matters.
Reply:Great choice! It looks so eco-friendly! The theme can be "go green". I would do sage green and silver.

Any body ever grow RUSSIAN SAGE?

How much of a root system on a piece do you need in order to do a transplant?

DIVIDING METHODOLOGY

Any body ever grow RUSSIAN SAGE?
It's actually pretty hard to divide Russian Sage successfully because of the woody base. It's better to take cuttings from shoots that emerge from the base of the plants in spring or early summer, or to just dig up the small offshoots that appear on the outside of established clumps. I like the idea of layering because you just place a rock on the stem touching the ground %26amp; it grows roots without much fuss.

It makes sense that the bigger the root system, the better the survival rate. However, if the root system happens to be small, the plants should do OK if they have plenty of soil attached to the roots. Be sure to "water regularly during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. After the plants are established they can tolerate drought very well." (1) Make sure they have good drainage or their roots will rot. "Russian sage... is more like an annual or biennial. Plants usually die within two years, but might reappear from seedlings or root suckers." (2)

Here's a site about what other's are saying about propagating Russian Sage:

http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/...

BTW, "Russian sage is neither Russian nor sage." It's a native of Afghanistan %26amp; is POISONOUS. (3)

Sorry your plants didn't take off.

I bet it's because of the extraordinarily hot summer we've had, which has been really hard on most new plants.
Reply:A stem cutting is your best bet You can try a transplant ,why not that's what it's about trial and error Like any other plant enough root to become established.

How do i make a wreath with my home grown sage?

Cut your sage back and tie off with some string or a rubber band. Hang upside down to let air dry thouroughly. Make the shape of the what ever items intended for the wreath, then cut the sage to fill in.

Use a hot glue gun and floral pins to hold into place. Start with a bunch, lay it down and attach to the wreath. Cut off and excess, then add second bunch under the first one and repeat until you go all around the whole thing!

How do i make a wreath with my home grown sage?
My opinion but FRESH CUT, not dried. I've used woven grape vine then weave into that, the "Stuff" I want to add.

Once dry, Sage will be more delicate to handle, and it will dry naturally anyway however you mount it to whatever pattern or material you use for a wreath.
Reply:It's easiest to use a store bought wreath to use as a base (either woven or styrofoam) and then you can pin or use thin wire to attach your bunches of sage. Just keep going until you cover the wreath you used as a base. Good luck! :)

How to I rid an object of evil by burning sage?

I have this really cool ring that I want to wear, but it has some strange symbols carved inside it. I wore it for a while a few years ago, but bad things started to happen to me. I want to rid it of any evil spells or spirits it might have and I heard burning sage near an open window will do that.

xjEnNax

How to I rid an object of evil by burning sage?
Cleanse the ring by placing it in salt or burying it. Running water works well too.
Reply:I'd just give it whirl until I found out the truth. It couldn't hurt in the meantime, right?
Reply:ABSOLUTELY!!!

You do know that's how they got Hitler, right?

That's right, just gather some sage leaves, open a window and light a match...then all the little bad guys holed up in your "really cool" ring will float away into someone else's jewelry. Make sure your necklaces and earrings are locked up tight, my dear. And don't leave any lockets in your room...those are known to be evil spirit hotels.

Wait a minute...you do know who Hitler is, don't you?
Reply:The only way is to throw it into the fires of Mordor.
Reply:get an eye of gnute tooth of dragon turd of mouse and chard from a burning house place in pigs intestinal pouch swing over your head counterclockwise and say the magic incantation from the book of shadows entitled getting rid of evil spirits
Reply:To release bad energy or medicine from an object :

(this must be performed outside)

Using white sage or cedar smudge , fan the smoke around the object starting from above and ending below. Go completely around the object and beneath it. While you are smudging think only good and positive things. Command the evil to leave.

Then take the object inside and set it between two white candles on a piece of cedar. around the object place bay leaves and lavender. Every day for the next week (two weeks if you really want to charge it with positive thoughts) light the candles for about 15 min and think positive things while touching the object.

repeat as necessary.
Reply:No one or no thing can eliminate evil except Jesus Christ.
Reply:You dont.
Reply:yOU also carry ur nose with u since birth among other thigs, bad things are happening might be bcause of your nose, cut it %26amp; throw away.

If I was to add color to a batch of soap scented with cedarwood and sage...?

...What color would you suggest it be, or do you think it's natural color should stand on it's own?

If I was to add color to a batch of soap scented with cedarwood and sage...?
Green, a deep light green. Clear soap is boring and only a few would be drawn to the lack of color as a good thing.

Does a sage plant need cold over the winter? or can I grow it under lights in the basement?

Hi:

Sage is considered a perennial in warmer climates. I live in zone seven in the United States and our ground doesn't freeze, but sage will die out and come back in the spring.

Growing sage inside can be done. It doesn't matter what zone you live in. If you have an exisiting plant, it will do great around a sunny window. Most herbs love the sun. You can germinate sage seeds during the winter months and then put them out in the garden in the spring.

I will link you to my landscape article section of my website. I have an article on herb growing from seed. You can really keep any perennial inside in the winter months and they will survive. The main goal is to keep the right amount of moisture and light requirements for each plant. I will also link you to my site map so you can browse through everything that is on my web site on any landscape solutions or plant tips.

I hope this has helped some and if your need further suggestions, please feel to contact me at the website. Good luck to you and have a great day!

Kimberly

Using sage seasoning as a salt?

Sage is too strong to be used as a salt replacement.

Try something like garlic salt. It's not as strong, but it does give some awesome flavor and kick.

Using sage seasoning as a salt?
Sage is quite a strong spice and best used with poultry (chicken, turkey etc)

When should I light white sage and incense..?

Native American Indian said this is great for clearing negative energy from your home car etc

Anyone else does this practice

Thanks

When should I light white sage and incense..?
Don't forget to wave it around you as well! Not just the house! Light the sage like you're lighting a joint(sorry for the comparison), let it get real smokey, then go to each corner of the house, and say. . (In the name of the father, the son, and the holy spirit I bless this house!) Make sure you say it at every corner of the house! Heck do it three times a day if you want. This isn't the type of spell that has reprocussions. You are just protecting yourself from whatever energies are inside your house. Also quartz crystal by your door blocks negative energies as well!! It works, trust me. You light the sage, clense your house, and you instantly feel better. I guess it's sort of like aromatherapy. Dried up white sage is only a couple of bucks a bag, and they should have herb stores near you. Good luck! And blessed be! :o)
Reply:Anytime is fine. Say a prayer when you do it.
Reply:Smudging can be done most any time. Be sure to offer prayers while you do this, and fan the smoke with a feather, usually from an eagle.
Reply:right after you session in your dorm room so the resident advisor doesn't smell it
Reply:I smudge with sage..

you can do this every morning .or on special occasions.. birth, death a birthday, wedding.. or just to connect with the creator.

first remove all metal objects, rings, watches etc..

then light your sage, fan the sage with a feather ( if you have one, I use an Eagle feather)

make sure you have it in a non metal container , sea shell works great.. smudge yourself with the smoke. from the head down.wafting the smoke with your hands.

then stand facing the sunrise and smudge the room from the 4 directions.( using the feather to fan the smoke) do this to each of the rooms in your house. once you have smudge the whole house this way. then let the smudge die down on it's own.. it's that simple
Reply:when ever you like -- are you asking time of day? Anytime is fine for that.
