lavendar if you want more femininity...pale yellows or darker greens....dark blue....tans, earthtones...
What colors can i mix with a sage love seat and sofa in my living room?
Deep browns and burgundys, Deeper Greens and Blues. If you like softer palats try beiges and softer blues.
Reply:Browns, Soft Reds, and yellows and a hint of orange
Reply:If sage is an earth tone, pastel yellows and all earth tones and grns will work
Reply:Green goes with anything. Look at pictures of gardens. You could go
with purple and yellow, yellow and red, black and grey, any two colours
that goe together will look good with green. Keep to the same tones and
you will be fine.
Reply:Depending on the colors of your walls and if you are interested in changing them, I would suggest these colors as accent colors : a deeper purple like eggplant, egg shell white, lilac, taupe, rose/ mauve and creamy yellows. It really all depends on the lighting in the room, what the room's purpose is ( is it a formal room or a casual room and how much do you use it?) And most importantly, what kind of feel do you want the room to have? Are you looking for a light airy feel or a more cozy comfy feel? Remember, there are no right or wrongs solutions to the colors you choose. It is your space and it's up to you how you how to arrange and choose colors. A good way to find colors that coordinate is going on a paint adventure. If you look at paint color combinations you will get more ideas.
Reply:I have a sage sectional and I used burgundy. It's beautiful and very rich looking. There's lots of burgundy things in the stores now to pick from. I'm thinking now of painting one wall burgundy and the others a lighter sage then my couch.
Reply:I have a sage green sofa and chair in my livingroom. I painted my walls only one shade darker than the sofa and chair to make a neutral background. Then I began to add my accessories. I used a dusty red colour for a couple of throw pillows and a matching throw. I used a cream and sage 'ticking' fabric for two more bolster pillows on the couch. I used a forrest green brocade for my draperies. Any metal in the room is a polished nickel and all of my wood furniture in the room is black. The carpet is a parchment color. I used colorful Haitian art to liven up the walls. I threw in a couple of overstuffed chocolate leather library chairs and now I get nothing but compliments.
I painted the walls nearly the same as the couch so I would have a solid neutral background - that way I can changes the pillows, throws, and art when I want a change.
Hope this Helps!
Reply:It depends on your taste, there's a variety of ways you could do it.
For a monochromatic look, you'd go with other shades of green.
Or there's red, which is a complimentary color to green, so I'd maybe get some paint chips of red's you like and try them next to the sage. I know you're thinking eek, red and green, but it's sage, so you could go with a maroon or maybe a deeper orangey-red, or a mauve. Remember, there are millions of shades of each color!
Or you could go with blues and yellows (this is called analogus).
And lastly, there's triadic - with your sage you'd use a shade of orange and shade of purple.
All would work really well, it just depends on your personal taste and what colors you want.
If your sofa and love seat are solid, I suggest getting patterned pillows and curtains. Mix it up, use different patterns and textures.
Reply:A soft yellow I nice with that I think.
Reply:Eggplant and a brick red color would look nice. Use some natural wood like bamboo for accents.
