Can sage leaves be eaten on its second stage right of the plant with out drinking it with tea?

Can sage leaves be eaten on its second stage right of the plant with out drinking it with tea?
Yep, i just used it last night on a pumpkin and ricotta lasange last night, fried in butter with walnuts, mmmmm... yummy.
Reply:As long as it is not from a White Sage plant (which is poisonous) then why not? Sage is used in cooking all the time and as a garnish on meat dishes. I personally don't like the taste, but a lot of people I know chew the leaves instead of gum.
