I would go with the sage as first choice, cobblestone next.
I wouldn't use the red because your couch is dark brown the red won't look as nice, you want some contrast. Red and brown is O.K together, but it is a bit over done. If you can get a few swatches together or even pull pictures from a magazine that resemble your couch and different colours of chairs, put them together for an idea. I also suggest going with cream (although not suitable for all house holds) and because you couch is solid you could consider a chair with patterned fabric, maybe stripes in all the colours you mentioned you like above. They would actually all go together nicely.
I have a chocolate brown couch. What color chair would go best: cobblestone, sage, red or any other colors?
I agree....the blue!!!! Report It
Reply:Have you ever thought of a steel or slate blue. They go great together.
Reply:a maroon or like a dark red...
Reply:They all sound like they would work because you definitely would want to stay with earth-tones unless you want the chair to "pop" out. Sounds like a very beautiful comfy couch and living area. Enjoy!
Reply:sage would completement the chocolate color and bring it out
Reply:Cobblestone would look nice, but red would add some real pizzazz to the room. Just make sure that the red is a very deep red and not an orangey red.
Reply:a deep red would look nice
Reply:definitley cobblestone
Reply:It depends on what kind of mood/atmosphere you want. Brown would go well with a sage colour or a red colour. having said that, with the sage colour, it would look earthy, and leave you with a cool looking room (as in temperature wise). having red would be my choice, which would give it a nice warm feel, and brown seems to come alive with a nice vibrant red. you may also want to take the colour of your walls into consideration. Hope your decorating goes well.
