Transplanting sage, and how to cut back?

Had to mave some sage, and didn't get it cut back, it is starting to get new growth on the bottom, should I cut the dried up top part of the branches off?

Transplanting sage, and how to cut back?
Sure thing! Sage is pretty hardy and can get VERY woody. Just clip the dead stuff off 1-2 nodes above the new growth. Use sharp pruners! You will probably see some green when you clip. Pruning will stimulate growth and more leaves should appear!
Reply:The top growth that is dried up is dead, cut it off . The new growth is showing you its alive and will do well.... often the last years growth, even if not transplanted will die off in colder zones and not effect the plant.
