There are so many available - what is the best Sage Package for a small business?
Okay,

As you already know there are a huge number of Sage solutions for you and your business........

If you want the most basic bookkeeping package then you would be needing Sage Instant accounts at a cost of £129.oo and this can be bought directly from Sage or through Amazon, PC World etc.

If you have staff then Sage Instant payroll is also an option and can cater for businesses with upto 10 members of staff at a cost of £98.99.

Hope that helps........
Reply:line 50 for small businesses. easy and simple to use. provides you with all the relvant reports such as balance sheet, trial balance, aged debtors %26amp; creditors, blah blah blah

and also allows you to account for VAT and complete VAT returns and also reconcile your bank transactions.

also if you employ ppl, get sage payroll too as this can be linked into sage line 50 so you dont have to enter the wages transactions.

plus, most accounting firms use line 50 too so when its time to hand your accounts over you can just give them a back up of it.
Reply:No one can tell you what is best for you. My computer came with QuickBooks, and many small businesses use it. I use DacEasy, and it is similar to Peachtree. Both of these are more sophisticated than QuickBooks, but they are also more expensive.
Reply:Dont use sage too bloody complicated by far. Use spreadsheets like you would in a manual system. So simple and the amount of time you spend doing your books if you are a small business is miniscule.
